The way they celebrated the 8th wicket you'd thought they'd won the game there and then.
Meltdown guaranteed once they lost
Lowerhouse were a long way off winning at that stage and it's not difficult to imagine a team celebrating the fall of the eighth wicket with so many runs still to get. I sometimes think Lowerhouse fans are a little cocky

Walsden have always been "combative" even in the 70s and 80s when I played. Known (affectionately) at Littleborough as the village idiots :D

Players sat chatting with each other and having a drink now. As it should be. Emotions run high in tight games like that and the House faithful giving it them towards the end wouldn't have helped :D
All very civil after though I'm pleased to say.

Amazing comeback from Lowerhouse to win that today. Looked dead and buried when the eighth wicket fell.

It's not over till it's over. Lowerhouse fans know that. Support to the end.

They were a long way off, but still did it

Most teams are going to be competitive on the pitch and that will involve a certain amount of gamesmanship at times.

I spoke to a couple of the Walsden players after the game and they were proper decent lads. No animosity at all.

Indeed. Seen us win from tougher situations than that as well. We know it's not over until it's over out of experience. We are capable of batting all the way down and today we needed it.
That celebration for the 8th wicket was something else though and winning it from there just makes it sweeter.
We got away with nothing. I thought Walsden lost the plot. Juggling their bowlers round willy nilly. Joe Gale and their pro bowled well initially. Joe Gale brought back for 1 over then off again..then brought on at the other end. Pro brought back in a panic and his overs seen off. Lack of bowling options cost Walsden similar to how it cost Todmorden in the Worsley Cup final last season

I admit I was stood with a few mates of mine that came out for the football and I said ''yeah game over'' at 6 down when they asked about the state of the game (non cricket fans) they then commented ''are these your **** batters'' I said nah we bat through to 11 but the total looked too tough.

Happy to be proven wrong, I also had us finishing 2-4th this year but I genuinely think we will be right up there this year. I think we have the best pro in the league and he hasn’t scored any big runs yet, he’s too good for that not to change
