I think it’s important to be able to pin your colours to the mast. Although people are entitled to change their mind, we all do, few ever put down what they think.
So mine.
I dislike Kompany and what he did to the club in the last Premier League season.
I don’t think Roberts is up to the job, more so now.
I love Trafford and have long thought he will be the next England #1.
I think the ownership group and the chairman are brilliant and have supported the club to move forward on and off the pitch.
What’s yours?

Sean Dyche was the best and worst manager I’ve seen us have.
The Coyle season was the best one.
What Parker did this season is up there with us getting into Europe.

Re: Full disclosure
OT but 'Full Discolsure' sounds like it's a film from the 1980s that has been lost to history.
Starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Mel Gibson, Full Disclosure is a steamy, saucey, action drama / rom-com. Gibson must team up with Morgan Freeman, defeat Jeremy Irons, win the girl of his dreams and save Christmas. With a sound track from Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Full Disclosure is this summers must watch film.
Coming soon to a VHS rental near you.

Scott Arfield is the best fee transfer we’ve ever made.
Scott Parker has done a brilliant job this season considering the players he lost after the first two games.

Kompany not liked by me, he also came in with the Billy big ******** attitude, filthy language, talk to the players like they were 5 yr olds, you were the manager of Burnley NOT Man city, never gave the winning Championship team a chance, good riddance to bad rubbish, Parker like a breath of fresh air, nice football and talks to the media properly, no falseness from Scott, best manager for me has/and always will be was Jimmy Mullen.................and the claret n blue army.

I will add a mention for S Dyche though ... I loved the promotion seasons with him in charge, but wished we had potted him sooner that season than Easter

Still not won over by Scott Parker
Thought Vincent Kompany was the 'second coming' after Owen Coyle
Love to see games played in fog, snow- covered pitches, muddy pitches
Little or no time for the Premier League
Of all the great games/ occasions in recent years nothing Compares with Burnley 6 v Man City 3 on a muddy pitch in January 1962.
Willie Irvine was as close as anyone to Jimmy Greaves as being the best striker in Europe.

Love Scott Parker but wonder how long it will take, on here, for the knives to be out.
Jimmy Adamsons’ team played the best football I’ve seen on Turf Moor.
Hate what Kompany did in his PL season. No rhyme or reason for how he treated his players and the money he wasted.

Re: Full disclosure
Full disclosure, when I first went on the Turf in the early 80's I thought it would just be a laugh with my mate, I had no idea how much it would mean decades later. It doesn't matter what league we are in, who the manager is or who the players are, it will always mean the world.
Re: Full disclosure
How many of those hating kompany were saying that when we won the league at Ewood?
Re: Full disclosure
Rather a silly point, bit like suggesting no Burnley fan could ever have a grievance with Coyle because he won us the play offs. Obviously no one would deny Kompany gave us a fantastic season but it isn’t the be all and end all of his legacy.
Re: Full disclosure
Interesting thread.
I suppose my first would be that I started off really liking Scott Parker, then I changed my mind in the autumn and would have been happy for him to leave after some dull affairs, but then I changed once again after the Sheff Utd away game on Boxing Day when I finally felt like I understood what his football is all about and how it works. He deserves success and I hope we all give him our full support next season when the difficulties arise.
I also resent the way that Vincent Kompany went about the 23/24 season. I'm sure he didn't do it on purpose, but just about every decision he made went against how you should treat people and respect the challenge. His ego told him he was different from everybody else and we sat through some gutless shockers. I wish him well at Bayern, but I get the sense that he's not allowed anywhere near as much control over the club as he got at Burnley, and rightfully so.

Not a silly point
I'm grown up enough to realise coyle gave us a great season, but I hated the way he left, but will never forget that play off season, some on here, if you read the posts, just hate kompany, but their reasons seem to stem from the 2nd season, no mention of the first.
Re: Full disclosure
Born in Burnley 63 years ago but family moved to Kent in 1968. Supporting Burnley is an investment in the town, the club, the county and is like being on the biggest rollercoaster in the world. Sean Dyche gave us all memories and hopes that I never believed were possible (as did Owen Coyle). Best team I saw was probably with Trevor Steven being guided by Dobbo with Overson and Phelan in that team too. Although I don’t see many live games I am always aware of games being played. Kompany gave us a great season followed by a poor one and Scott Parker did an incredible job this season. Who knows what the future will bring ? The club is bigger than any individual and I have the utmost admiration for the loyal supporters who follow The Clarets everywhere - most of my matches were seen at Gillingham (25 mile drive from Herne Bay), Orient, Wimbledon, Brentford, Barnet, Southend and most were pretty miserable places and matches but it was still watching the team I will always love.

Re: Full disclosure
First Promotion season under Dyche was my favourite season ever
Dyche did more for this club than any other manager
However I think he’s a bit of a pillock
Chelsea away league cup is my favourite ever game
Coyle broke my heart
I also think he’s a pillock
Never warmed to Kompany but can’t argue with winning the league at Ewood
Never been a big fan of Parker but he’s done an outstanding job this season
Maybe I just have a problem with football managers generally!

Re: Full disclosure
Here's my list:
Sean Dyche is a living legend. If backed properly at Burnley, he could have won a cup and got us into Europe again. Unfortunately, he's becoming typecast with 'Brexit Football'
Stan is my favourite manager, he wore his heart on his sleeve.
Owen Coyle broke my heart. I was filled with bitterness for years after. I remember booing robbie blake when he came back with Bolton and I'll always regret it.
Eddie Howe is a very good manager, it was just the wrong time at Burnley.
VK is 2 people for me. The legend of the champ season and the narcissist bully of the second season. Over time, I hope to remember the first better.
Scott Parker is a very decent and humble man who I like. Time will tell how we do next season, but he won't get the luxury of time VK did, he will be under pressure next season.
The previous owners were seduced by greed and screwed us over. The current owners seem to have their hearts in the right places but I will always have a nagging doubt. Barry Kilby is a legend for what he did for the club and town

I didn't want Parker, but i wouldn't replace him with anyone now.
I have no feelings either way for Kompany. He was just part of our journey.
Love Dyche but would hate to be stuck in a lift with him.
I forgave Coyle a few years ago.
Ash Barnes is the personification of Burnley FC and deserves a statue.

If the money Dyche made for Burnley FC had been channelled back into the club rather than Garlick's back sack, he'd still be here and we'd never have left the top table.
I don't fully get the certainty that people have when they say we'll come straight back down when we've only spent 3 seasons out of the top flight in the last 12.
Flemming when protected by VAR will be a better player in the Prem.

More than 50% of the good things that happened during the kompany season were down to Bellamy.
I enjoyed going to games more in the bottom two tiers than I do in the Premier league.
I like Alan shearer and think that Adam Wharton is a good player.
In my football shirt drawer I have a blue and white halved shirt - but it is Grasshoppers of Zurich.

I did actually attend the Orient game, but did not celebrate on the pitch afterwards, choosing instead to go straight home, just glad it was all over.
Since the arrival of Jimmy Mullen in the early 90s, I think we have been spoiled to a degree. The 91/92 season was my first taste of success. I loved it then and I love it now and that entire team were just great to watch.
Stan Ternent scraped us up off the floor and got us firing again. Love him for that.
I had a lot of time for Steve Cotterill, and he he laid the foundations for the unbelievable promotion under Owen Coyle.
Loved Sean Dyche. With some added financial support I think we would have stayed up under him.
Alan Pace. Yes. So far, I have absolutely no complaints. He’s ambitious, as shown by his hiring of Kompany then backing him to the hilt. I won’t know him as well as some on here, but he comes across as genuine.
I’m glad Kompany walked. He hung that young team out to dry.
Scott Parker, what a job he’s done. After losing all that exciting talent in the fire sale, to rebuild from scratch and gather 100 points earns him a lot of slack in my book for next season.
And lastly, if we can hold on to Brownhill and Trafford, I believe we will be fine next season.

Re: Full disclosure
Full disclosure.
Dyche was excellent overall. Sometimes wasn’t happy with how he behaved around the media, but overall a good guy I think.
Dislike Kompany like I dislike Coyle. They both pulled the wool over my eyes and I’m annoyed at myself for allowing them to fool me. The football and the success was superb, but sheepsteeth and slabhead turned out to lack character.
When Parker was appointed, I was fairly happy. Had good form at this level so the appointment looked sound to me. He’s exceeded all my expectations, and it’s quite obvious he’s a team builder, excellent at motivating people and creating an excellent work environment for the players to flourish in. Speaks well, clearly has respect for people and it shows. Decent man I reckon.
As for Pace and the board, I’m reasonably happy with them too. Made good managerial appointments and behave like they want the best for the club. It may well be that it’s the best for the investors, but if it’s good for them it’s got to be good for us, so all power to them.
There are still plenty of people (certainly on here) who are still spewing because it’s going pretty well for us. I get the feeling there are those who can’t wait for it to go pear shaped so they can say “I told you so”. Their own self importance and their need to be right overruling the success of the club - it’s downright embarrassing to see, and just because they aren’t shouting from the rooftops, I just KNOW they are hovering, waiting for that moment. Whenever someone has something nice to say about Pace on here, the silence from some is deafening.

How can you not rate a manager who is on a 33 (THIRTY THREE) game unbeaten run? What logic are you using to form that opinion? Or is it an opinion you held and are unwilling to revisit regardless of what plays out?

Re: Full disclosure
My view hasn't changed on him because I see the same things I've seen all the way through. But I don't see the point in getting into it, it'd just get everyone's backs up and we'd go round in circles because you're not going to change your view and neither am I because I haven't seen anything to change it.
I could lay out the numbers that back up what I've seen but the mention of xG and the like will get even more people's backs up on here. It'd be boring for everyone.

In terms of seeing the same things you said Parker would prevent us finishing in the top two, that the goals would dry up and that we'd finish 3rd-5th. He's proved you wrong on everything hasn't he?

Well yeah, it’d obviously be really stupid showing xG stats and similar numbers to somehow try and demonstrate why you don’t rate a manager who has achieved 100 points over a full season.Mattster wrote: ↑Sun May 18, 2025 6:04 pmMy view hasn't changed on him because I see the same things I've seen all the way through. I said the goals would dry up after the Leeds game when we'd scored 11 goals in 5 games. We scored 7 in the next 10. They dried up.
But yeah, I said Parker would have us finish 3rd-5th so I was wrong. How he achieved that didn't change my mind on him.
As I said I'm not going to get into my reasons, already had half a dozen notifications - it's tiresome for everyone.
