Not quite as bad as the call from some to bring Cornet back. He left almost two and a half years ago and has started four league games since.
Wow, just 4 starts. We did very well to get a decent fee for him in retrospect then.

Detour had 50 caps for the 1 ranked international team in the world and played alongside other world class players.

He was more than top level, as shown when he played forcus, against the best.

Injilury stopped him playing for the biggest of club's, not his ability.
He was very good but I think he was a step below the top. Didn't have the athleticism.

If Ings had stayed injury free he would have got at least 10 or 12 England caps.

He’s one of the best I’ve seen play for Burnley.

Best part of 10 years playing in Premier League.
Almost 1 in 3 goal scoring record.
Played and scored for England.

Had some horrendous injuries to contend with.

I don’t know what went on between Ings and Dyche and I know some fans were upset with the way he left but I can only speak personally with what I saw from him. He was fantastic with the Blessed Trinity lad and he did a lot locally for charities.
One personal experience for me was the football match held at Belvedere for the passing of Mick Ennis. Danny Ings was asked to be involved and he donated some stuff for the auction including some of his boots. But more than that he gave up his time. He was the only one from the club who attended and he must have stayed for 4 or 5 hours. He was with a couple of friends. He was having his photo taken with kids and adults, signing stuff but most of the time he was just sat there talking to people. If you didn’t know who he was you would have thought he was like most of us that day - just there to pay tribute to Mick Ennis and have a couple of drinks with friends.

Think he gets a bit of a bad press because he has gone on to much bigger things after leaving Burnley. But he seemed to really love his time playing for us and also seemed to embrace the communities and people of the town. Maybe not as much as used to happen with the likes of Dobson, Noble and Taffy but the days of our players living in Burnley, staying here for years and their families settling down seem a distant memory. These days you hope you can keep a player for 3 or 4 years at best and during their time at the club they do their best to promote the town and do what they can with community projects.

The summer when Ings and Trippier left for bigger things, Dyche asked them both to take part in a charity golf tournament. One agreed, no problem, the other said speak to my agent. When both have played against us it might have been noticeable that Dyche blanked one of the two players. I’m not one of those ITK posters however this came from a pretty source, a family member of one of the players.

Shame because they would be the perfect fit for each other at the present moment with Everton

An injury prone 1 in 10 striker might be classed as an upgrade on DCL.

Personally don't really care about Ings or Dyche.

This. All day long, this.

For me, by FAR the most technically gifted player I have seen play for us.

The championship is a tough league, even with a massive wage cut I wouldn't want to risk a player of that age with his injury record.

I think it means she doesn't think he's good enough to sign - or his injury record suggests he'll play around 17 minutes.

Sorry if I upset you but I'd have thought it was clear. I'll start off with the club cannot afford to spend big money on a player who wouldn't be in the starting eleven very much. Not even for a leader which Ings definitely isn't

Crazy when you think about it. 32 and Vardy is 38.

6 years difference so you'd think Ings could have a few years left but his injuries have been pretty shocking.

Not upset me at all. I was wondering if there were implications about some of his behaviour when leaving the club which I think would be unfair.

Also in regards to the leader comment, the West Ham players and management seem to disagree with you there slightly. He's been praised for his outstanding professionalism even when not playing.

If we can get him on a cheap low risk deal I think it'd be a smart move but it doesn't sound likely, not heard any links.

I think Vardy would be a decent option for us. I think we will play 5 at the back and look to counter, certainly suits Vardys way of playing and he’s shown he can still be productive. I would like us to sign a big money main striker still though.

Football is full of hundreds of good professionals and I cannot remember West Ham ever describing Ings as a leader so I'm not sure where you are going with that.
We had a couple of good years and that's how I and the vast majority of Burnley fans think it should be left.

I don't see Parker playing a back 5. We know he likes to start with defence but I think we are more likely to go with the same style, just have more men behind the ball. So 4-2-3-1 but every man behind the ball when we don't have the ball. Vardy is now surely only a poacher.

We played a back 5 in the cup at Southampton. I can see that system being used next season in some games as it worked great on the day.

He was getting into trouble for being a ladies man. Who can forget the twitter pile on he received off a young lass who he moved on from pretty quickly. 8 or 9 girls joined on pretty sharpish giving him heaps of abuse.
He soon deleted his account.

Had a worse reputation for being a womaniser than Marlon Beresford.

What? We definitely got the worse end of the Ings deal. He ended up being one of the top.scorers in the Prem over a period of 2 or 3 years. We lost a 20 million pound striker for about 6 million if I'm remembering the compensation fee correctly.

CW could be a close contender without going into the RC argument that said plenty of service before then. They still have Chelsea at home but not bad going for a supposedly washed up spent striker.

We didn’t sell Danny Ings. He was out of contract.
We received a record compensation fee.

His injury at Liverpool finished him really.
Bar when he was close to getting the golden boot in the PL for southampton

He just lost a yard. He would have been some player without that injury, the timing was disastrous for him.

He was very good but I think he was a step below the top. Didn't have the athleticism.
Didn't need the athleticism anywhere else. Ours was beyond normal. He was sublime.

Not the kind of rumours I have any interest in to be honest.
I’m just commenting on what I saw.
What him, Marlon Beresford or other players do in their private life as long as it’s legal and does not effect what they do on the pitch should be nothing to do with us.

Personally I’d ban players from platforms like Twitter - I’d put it in their contracts
