And Great Harwood who managed to lose their pro for a golden duck and still chased down Nelson's 185. Great game!

Was some knock for an amateur 134 in a 20/20.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 10:59 pmAnd Great Harwood who managed to lose their pro for a golden duck and still chased down Nelson's 185. Great game!
Looks like you got quite lucky getting the Nelson Pro out when you did. He got a 35 ball hundred sub pro'ing against Padiham last week.
The Padiham lads were raving about him.

Completely clueless.

Batting at padiham is similar to batting in my bathroom though. TinyQuickenthetempo wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 11:45 pmWas some knock for an amateur 134 in a 20/20.

Re: Lancashire League T20
I was in my element playing at Padiham (mostly in the seconds or thirds).
The boundary towards the football field was extremely short. I had this bat which was about 2lbs 13oz (Slazenger V100 5*). Even a leading edge would go for six.
I once hit a ball way over the trees at the Arbories End and using Google maps I have measured the distance as being over 90m. Whilst admiring my shot I stepped backwards and demolished my stumps, ending up on my arse.

Re: Lancashire League T20
Tbf, the Nelson pro batted brilliantly with his 50 off just 20 balls and was crucially superbly caught in the deep. He looks a real good un with the bat, but like so many league pros at the moment, he really wasn't great with the ball which helped Hardwood's opener hit his 134.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Fri May 30, 2025 11:45 pmWas some knock for an amateur 134 in a 20/20.

Re: Lancashire League T20
It is a small ground but it fools a lot of people into getting out.
Most 6s hit on it would be 6 on any league ground, but if you cloth one, it usually ends in you being caught on the edge.
Where it would fall short and be a single at bigger grounds.
100s don't happen very often at Padiham or cricket in general and it takes something special for a pro to impress. They come with high expectations.
