Re: Wilder
Thought Wilder was very composed during his press conference.
I feel sorry for him and SU, especially the fans. They were clearly the third best team in the league. I know they only have themselves to blame for not making the game safe but you would have to have a heart of stone not to feel for them.
The positive to this is that surely Sunderland must be nailed on to go straight back down. They somehow managed to find a way to win their semi final and final games when they were clearly second best.

They lost it because two teams got 100 points.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat May 24, 2025 8:41 pmSadly for Sheff Utd they did not lose it today, they lost it with 3 defeats in one week in April.
Re: Wilder
Heard he’s done. Leaving via mutual consent (less mutual on his side).

Re: Wilder
I wouldn’t want to be the next Sheffield United manager if that’s the case
3 teams coming down and Wrexham and Birmingham going up
Top 2 will be even harder next season even with Leicesters woes

Re: Wilder
It's like what I said on a previous thread, people say this every season. Even harder than needing 100+ points? Very unlikely. And there's no Burnley, Leeds or Sunderland next season to compete with. The Shire Claret wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 6:27 pmTop 2 will be even harder next season even with Leicesters woes

Re: Wilder
I agree with that - no one will make 100 points next season I don’t think eitherollieclarets8 wrote: ↑Sat May 31, 2025 6:31 pmIt's like what I said on a previous thread, people say this every season. But if we stayed down - it would be harder for us too regardless of that …
You have 3 teams coming down so you are already having to contend with that …
And the 2 teams I mentioned are a little different than what came up last season
Promotion on the first season is vital

Re: Wilder
He was too emotional and it passed onto the players. If he had stayed calm they might have done something.

Re: Wilder
Good championship manager but the owners expected promotion and unfortunately the spending in January backfired badly .
