I don’t think he’s played for Parker previously has he?Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 2:28 pmTargett certainly isn’t a shock link. I mentioned him months ago as a potential left back target for us given his links to playing for Parker previously and not getting much game time in the PL. I think he’d be a solid enough signing should it happen - as long as his fitness is ok.

Hope not
Re: Summer transfer window
Hasn't been getting any game time due to multiple hamstring injuries and a skin condition. His kind of recurring injury issues at 29 years old and on a huge wage should be a massive red flag for us.burnley007 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 3:48 pmTargett would be a very good signing.
He hasn't been getting any game time due to having a few players ahead of him in the squad there.
Was really well liked when he 1st arrived.

Mitrovic could be heading back to the Premier League
Feels plausible (even for Talk Sh**e). Would seem financially way out of our league, but if moves higher up don’t happen, due to the Parker connection, one never knows. Would be perfect for us, even at 30 years old.

Re: Summer transfer window
If they end up losing Frank, Mbuemo and Wissa in one window they won’t be the same side next season.
Re: Summer transfer window
Absolutely. And for all the progress clubs like Brentford and Bournemouth have made in recent seasons, they are only ever really one bad managerial appointment away, or a poor transfer window away, from flirting with danger again.
Although the gap is big, I don’t feel like it’s gotten *that* big to the point of it being insurmountable, which is the prevailing thought.
Promoted teams need to stop playing completely naive football for a start, and all it takes is for 1 or 2 of the lesser teams not to have all their ducks in a row in terms of manager, recruitment, style etc and suddenly the gap has closed again.

I think Mbeumo would be a better signing for Man United than Cunha is.

Agreed. Not every club can do well every year. We had our moment for five years or so. But many have that one bad year.TsarBomba wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 10:13 pmAbsolutely. It’s not beyond the realms of possibility the two clubs you mention there. And even Brighton, palace and co. Have a bad season
With so many clubs in Europe too that can only help us.
Best season subject to transfers. I can imagine Fulham, palace, Bournemouth, Brentford, forest all have worse campaigns than this. ( and spurs and Utd to have better).
West Ham seem to flip flop between over performing and underperforming.
We just need the odds in our favour and a few over performers to have a mare. And Leeds / Sunderland too much to do.
Re: Summer transfer window
I thought Targett would be a good target (pardon the pun). But if the above issues are true, we should stay well clear. We can’t be wasting money on bit part players.

Frank would have to be off his head to leave Brentford. He's got the best scouting and recruitment team in the Premier league. Money screams but why would anyone with any pride sign for Manure at this moment.

The scouting and recruitment team would hand their notices in the next day to follow him to either United or Spurs though, that won’t be an issue.
It’s not just money - they’re incomparable in terms of size, history, fanbase, potential, etc. I massively commend and like Frank for his loyalty to Brentford but at some point he has to want to test himself at a bigger club.
For what it’s worth, I think United are starting to get it right (or better) on recruitment with the hiring of Premier League experience, over foreign flair players unproven in England, if their reported summer targets are to be believed.

Re: Summer transfer window
He may be lined up for a bigger move, but Ange-Yoan Bonny is the one I would like us to be looking at. Likely 20/25 million euros gets him. Expensive for us, but he looks a real player.
Re: Summer transfer window
I've been saying for a while that I fancy Bournemouth will be in the relegation scrap next season. Arrizabalaga is back at Chelsea, Huijsen has already joined Real Madrid, and Kerkez looks likely to join Liverpool. That's the defence stripped already, and we've only in June! It's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could also lose Kluivert (United and Chelsea rumoured to be interested), and Semenyo. They could be a very different team come August. I'm sure Iraola will be on the radar of a few bigger clubs too. He's done a terrific job in the last two seasons, and has arguably already taken a club of Bournemouth's size as far as he can.TsarBomba wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 10:13 pmAbsolutely. Re: Summer transfer window
If we could get 'silly money' for Trafford, I would be inclined to take it.
The obvious scenario would be replace with a Ramsdale and use the surplus (surely at least £10-20m) on strengthening the team.
I would hate to lose Esteve, but again. Even in that scenario. An established, experienced head who can play in a backs to the wall system and buy the next Esteve wouldnt be the worse scenario in the world.
The sum needs to be stronger than its parts!
