Nope. Explain the 2 chases today ? Walsden needed an extra run Rochdale didn’t ?
Our innings wasn't interrupted. We played the allocated 28 overs so it was a pure chase of 28 overs. Middleton had their innings interrupted and presumably lost overs...so it compensates for the overs Middleton would have expected to have and any increase in tempo they might have had. Hence it's assumed they might have scored a few more.
It's pretty much common sense.

Match Report: Lowerhouse vs Rochdale – Saturday, June 7th
In one of only two fixtures to beat the weather today, Lowerhouse delivered a dominant performance to comfortably defeat Rochdale in a reduced 28-over match.
Rochdale won the toss and opted to bowl first. Conditions were tough for batting, but Lowerhouse dug in to post a competitive total of 138 for 8. Jonny Whitehead led the way with a gritty 42, setting the platform, while Henri Cottam added a composed 32, helping the side to a defendable score.
In reply, Rochdale were completely dismantled by a ruthless Lowerhouse bowling attack. Paddy Martin was the standout, tearing through the batting lineup to return outstanding figures of 5 for 15 from 7 overs. In doing so, Martin overtook Jonathan Finch to become the 4th highest wicket-taker in Lowerhouse history – a superb personal milestone.
Rochdale were bowled out for just 44, sealing a comprehensive win for the House.

Another Paddy Martin masterclass, 4th highest wicket taker in Lowerhouse history, overtaking Finchy.
Currently with figures of 13/5, from 6, with 4 wides
Hard to argue hes not the best amatuer spinner in the league for me

Ah got it now. So Middleton had the overs received from 50 to 30 so Walsden had to score an extra run !!!! All makes sense now

Excellent win for Walsden with 1 ball to spare. Despite the extra run required

What would the result have been if Walsden had finished on 145 off last ball ?

I wasn’t at the game. Were there any interruptions after the game had started? You clearly have no understanding of how DLS works.

On the road to the Lakes again today for the House taking on Netherfield in Cumbria. No sub pros allowed in this competition so all amateur side. For those not travelling, looks like they’re streaming today. Mind you, Nelson and Rochdale but said so but didn’t:

Its complicated but not that bad of a system when you delve into it. Teams chasing often have to score close to an initial total, even when overs are reduced because the calculation allows for the advantage of a team batting second knowing how many they need to win.
If you bat first, you obviously don't know what a winning total will be, and what score could be enough to set, and possibly how many overs you're going to face to pace your innings accordingly. It also changes with wickets lost etc so it's not too bad overall and a reasonable formula to decide rain limited matches..

I was reading a thread on FB about Yorkshire cricket and a lot of leagues pushing for all clubs to be streaming.
Some clubs are refusing and have been advised not to due to permissions.
Something to do with all players/scorers/umpires have to agree to it.
Some have picked up conversations from the crowd that they weren't happy with etc..
Signs up at the entrance warning you could be recorded and permission forms will cover clubs back, but is it worth the hassle?

Luckily DLS is built into the play cricket scoring system and will be put up on the scoreboard every over if rain is likely/overs reduced in the 2nd innings.

It’s complicated unless you have the calculations in front of you. I think at county grounds now they have the DLS showing on the scoreboard.

Yep - it’s being banded about everywhere.
Think it should be a condition of entry, don’t wanna be on the stream, don’t come/play/umpire. It’s helping spread the game.

They should at league grounds now too. As I say it's built into the scoring system so no need to work anything out.
At Padiham yesterday they put the DLS in the last man section as the scoreboard doesn't have a DLS section.

That’s good and helps those there.
I remember a Roses match in 2017. I was in Dublin for our pre-season friendly against Shamrock. It was raining and almost ball by ball it was changing who was in front. I think the umpires waited until they were level and then took them off.

120/7 Nobody looking after their wickets. I get the feeling with it being the Lancs Cup they don't care. A sod it and see attitude.

Not at lot happening here at Longridge v Burnley, though rain looks imminent. Would say this is heading for a bowl out.

I get the feeling they would have taken it far more seriously had the pro been playing. The fact he's injured, and no sub pro is allowed in this competition, puts them at a real disadvantage, hence the gung-ho attitude.

It's quite hard to get in Lowerhouse first team at the moment, I can't imagine the players being half arsed when they get a chance.
Maybe it's just a bad day and the other side are just playing better?
Being put under pressure usually causes silly run outs.

The players don't care about this comp. It's well known and they'll freely admit it. Still no excuse for not playing to the required level which is how it looked in our innings today.
I was at Great Eccleston a few years ago and that was even more shambolic. More 2nds fielded that day that we apparently got questioned for by the Lancs Cup organisers.

Wasn't much pressure. 100/3 ish off 15 is a great start run wise. Just kept on bazballing it and paid the price. Nobody thought..right..good start let's keep it tight for a while.
There was no.pressure.

Not this season we don’t Bailey and pro have both struggled as has Tripathi
