Think it was 3-0, Frank.
Remember Lee scoring & you just knew what was going to happen.
I bloody hated going there in the 70s.

Derby used to be one of our bogey sides in the 70s & 80s but I didn't realise they've not beaten us now in the last 14 meetings.

Their last win against us was Jan 2007 at Pride Park when we had Djemba-Djemba sent off.

But having beaten them in April 1951, we didn’t beat them again in a league game for 44 years.

The 5-1 game was in January 1974. I was there too. Had forgotten we'd scored too.

Derby County were a great side in the 70s.

I remember that hooligan of theirs in the black and white check tank top running wild on the Turf.
Played numerous times on telly at the time.

Is it that game?

Beat them in 1953 the season they went down along with Stoke City
Saw both games against Stoke and Derby in that season
Derby were rubbish until Brian arrived in about 67/68 but we did Clough in the FA Cup in late 60’s
The last win until as CT said in the 1990’s

FA cup, saw Andy Cooke nod one in at the (relatively) new Pride Park from a Stretch
Armstrong cross for a 0-1 win.

First time l saw us get anything at Pride Park, was '84.
A 2-2 draw.
I remember it because Biggins pulled us level. I'd watched him score a winner against my local side for Matlock in the Northern Premier league only 2 or three years before.

Looking at the schedule for Saturday, this is Episode 4 , Series 9 Big Match Revisited.
So the following weeks might have the 4-4 draw at the Turf v Norwich.

A Kevin Hird free kick from outside the box flew in that day only for the linesman to wrongly put up his offside flag.

I missed that one. We won 3-1 at the Baseball Ground with goals from Billy Elliott, Jimmy McIlroy and Jackie Chew.

Loads went on dressed as Santa that day. It’s a game I’ve searched many times on you tube for but have never found any highlights

Pretty sure it was out first ever win against a premier league team

I'm pretty sure that game didn't feature on the Big Match. A week on Saturday's programme will feature QPR v. Man Utd, Everton v. Newcastle & Wolves v. Birmingham.

Don’t think that game was televised, very few of our games were because of Lird’s stance.

The Tranmere commentator had something of a reputation - found this from their game against Stoke in 2001. The referee by the way is Fletcher from Warley.

The game from 1984
First time I've seen that. Didn't realise Biggins leveller was such a huge keeper gaff. From where I was, at the other end of the pitch, looked like he'd nipped in between the keeper & defender!

Derby. I attended the 2 memorable cup games years ago. The fogged off one and the replay tgat went down in history.

I have forgotten though - was it their ground or the Baseball ground?

Ha. The word new is missing from my Q, I see.

So - New stadium - Where Jean Louis Valois scored his free kick on a freezing night when I thought I may be gone for some time, or the old Baseball Ground?

Thks

Replay at the Baseball Ground was early 1992, I think.
Pride Park opened '97.

First time we played at Pride Park was the cup tie in 1999 so, yes, the two in 1992 were at the Baseball Ground.

Aye, was treacherous on the roads, had a couple of
journeys over Blubberhouses back from York similar, but
yes awful conditions.

Thanks I always wondered if I went to the Baseball ground and yet knew I was fogged off with Shilton and in the replay, legendary Claret and Blue Army chants.
