Re: The 1 percent club.
I'm perfectly chilled. Clarke was there as an ex professional footballer and pundit to hopefully raise money for charity, which he did.
He wasn't there to talk about his playing career any more than he was there to talk about appearing on Countdown.

Re: The 1 percent club.
The only time I realised Clarke was there was right at the end when he was in the last 2 with The Grimsby Town fan comedian Lloyd Griffith
No he didn't mention Burnley or QPR, Leeds, Luton, PNE etc etc etc and why should he.

Re: The 1 percent club.
Why does he??
If any celebrity mentions that they are Burnley fans we are all for it.
I have hardly ever heard Lee Mack mentioning Blackburn and I don't think he is a massive football fan

Re: The 1 percent club.
Oh dear, perhaps I shouldnβt post if my comments are taken so literally.
Re: The 1 percent club.
Iβve played along with the 1% club a few times and never gone the whole way through, apart from this celebrity special.
It was definitely a lot easier. The 1% question was well easy

Re: The 1 percent club.
I am sure I saw Clinton Morrison among the 100 taking part but didnβt notice at what stage he was eliminated. He obviously got beyond the first question.
Re: The 1 percent club.
Saw Lee Mack doing a gig in Harrogate a couple of years ago. A heckler shouted out 'which football team do you support?' And he replied ,'Er, Arsenal, er Blackburn, I'm not really bothered!'. A very witty guy with the most interesting fact about him being that he used to be Red Rum's stable boy in Southport. He moved to Blackburn when his parents took a pub there.

The Manxman pub in one of the roughest areas at the time.sjb wrote: βMon Jun 09, 2025 10:27 amSaw Lee Mack doing a gig in Harrogate a couple of years ago. Went to Everton school nearby, which no longer exists.

Given the format of the show, I just thought it was a daft question... But then again, not as daft as yours.CardyTheClaret wrote: βMon Jun 09, 2025 8:49 amWhen your internet connection drops out do you sit there arguing with yoursef?

Lee Mack questioning Henry about Bendnter on some talk show is pretty funny.

It perhaps was, I just wondered what the thought process was in calling it out, that's all.fidelcastro wrote: βMon Jun 09, 2025 12:25 pmGiven the format of the show, I just thought it was a daft question... But then again, not as daft as yours.

Well done in playing the man and not the ball though!

Claret Tony says that he mentions being a Blackburn fan all day long
Like I said earlier, he's not a football fan

Re: The 1 percent club.
Iβve seen Lee Mack admit he was a supporter of Blackburn Rovers on tv more than once, so by his own admission he is a football fan (to a degree).

You can't say that - chipbutty will respond and tell you that's nonsense even though you, like me, have heard him mention it many times.

Me too.
Re: The 1 percent club.
On Radio 2 "Scott Mills Breakfast" this morning they were reacting to the Thomas Frank Spurs move and the 1st thing I heard Lee Mack say was "I am a Blackburn Rovers fan" ...
