Should have kept Kane on.
Re: England v Senegal
Glad Toney got on though. Deserved it for spending 6 hours on a business class flight.

Tuchel out!
Re: England v Senegal
Bet Pitchfork is pleased he was 'rested'.
Re: England v Senegal
Deserve every part of that win Senegal - been the better side from minute one
Re: England v Senegal
That Tuchel knows what he is up to!
Re: England v Senegal
Very arrogant performance from England. Far too much strutting around with little urgency and no product. The third Senegal goal summed up things up.

The Madueke free kick before their third was an absolute shambles.

How is it possible that between them they come to that decision, it's not even handball by the law. The one against the Welsh last night was even worse.

Didn’t see the Wales game, although sounded like a belter. Clearly this wasn’t a deliberate handball so I’ve got no idea what the ref was thinking, and she shouldn’t have been sent to the monitor by the VAR.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 9:48 pmHow is it possible that between them they come to that decision, it's not even handball by the law. Switched over for last ten minutes after seeing England were losing. My thoughts… oh at least they have to give it a go for the last ten… oh dear. Surely one day I’ll catch something that makes me want to watch England again.
Re: England v Senegal
3 wins and 1 friendly defeat does not constitute a requirement for sacking him. He needs time to watch PL games and decide on the players to suit his system the best. He has just chosen tried and tested for now but that will change as he sees the English players every week.
Re: England v Senegal
Spot on. Too many think they just need to go through the motions to get a result. I know it's only a friendly, but you'd expect the younger lads would want to prove themselves. The reason Gibbs-White looked dangerous when he came on was because he actually puts the effort in. He makes the runs, tries to get into space, moves the ball quickly. You can't make an impact by going through the motions. I didn't know Curtis Jones or Morgan Rogers were on the pitch. Madueke is far too erratic too. The less said about Lewis-Skelly the better. If he's the best we have at left back we're in trouble. Maybe we're seeing why Southgate opted for Trippier at left back so much!!

Ref gave it, VAR agreed from memory. It's not good enough, surely the rules need looking at and have at least one ex player in the VAR room. It's become robotic, I'm not looking forward to next season whatsoever because of VAR.

I liked someone’s suggestion the other day that Tuchel is on a sabotage mission. How funny is it going to be when England line up against Germany in the World Cup final next summer and Tuchel starts to belt out the German national anthem.

Re: England v Senegal
England will continue to be bobbins until they get back to a settled side, and especially a settled back 4 that are prepared to be as solid and keep their shape as well as Senegal did tonight.
It's seriously got to the point of anybody can play for England now, history tells us that any team that wins anything at this level has to be a settled team. Sarfgate to blame, it was him that started all this chopping and changing and bringing anybody and everybody in.
Need to get back to basics, settled team and be proud to wear the shirt and play as a team, or will go worse.
3 big points in the game,
1, failed to stop the cross for their 1st goal
2, never a hand ball for our 2nd that wasn't
3, What the hell was Curtis Jones doing losing the ball for the 3rd.

Re: England v Senegal
Does anyone even care about England anymore?
Most of them are a bunch of overrated prima donna’s in my opinion and if I hear anymore reporters bang on about post season fatigue I’m going to throw the tele out the window! Surely the Senegal players have also had long hard seasons but yet they could manage running!!!

Br Careful what you wish for...
A lot of people seem to be calling for/advocating the sort of approach we took and results we achieved under that Southgate chap. One wonders how many (some names I definitely recognise) are the same people who called for Southgate to be potted.

It's draining, the elite group also produced some cracking games involving Spain, Portugal and France.Ampth7 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 10:13 pmDoes anyone even care about England anymore?

Fatigue is nonsense they've just had two weeks off after the season, if a player is fatigued give somebody else a chance who wants to play.
Bad appointment is Tuchel by the looks of it.

England were mentally on the beach. Frankly, that is where they should be. They'll be in preseason for the club world cup nonesense soon too. Undoubtedly poor this week, but I'll save my judgement for when players are ready.

Re: England v Senegal
I can't say any of the players showed last night why they are all paid so much. Like an earlier post said they are all well over paid. He should have had Gibbs White in from the start. When you watch him for Forest he always shows so much energy. Curtis Jones look's good but he just doesn't look as though he would get stuck in. Saka seems to be struggling. Walker he his past it.
If it was me I'd get rid of Tuchel and bring Carsley back. Get some youth and energy back in the team. Or dare I say it get some back bone into the side and let Sean at them !!!!

Re: England v Senegal
The new law that was brought in as a result of the Koscielny debacle against us says-
It is an offence if a player scores in the opponents goal:
Directly from their hand/arm, even if accidental or immediately after the ball has touched their hand/arm.
It winds me up when pundits start trotting out the ‘it wasn’t deliberate’ line- it makes no difference when a goal is scored from it.
When they first brought it in it was any handball in the build up to a goal but they had to tweak it slightly after Rice I think? accidentally handballed it around the halfway line then West Ham went on to score, it got disallowed and there was general uproar.
So they changed it to you couldn’t score with your hand/arm or directly set a player up to score with the preceding touch- accidental or not.
So she did technically apply the law correctly but I’ll admit it was on the greyer end of the scale especially as Bellingham needed a touch before he shot.
Re: England v Senegal
The madness of it all is that we would have never needed the new chuffing law in the first place if we’d have had a decent ref that day against Arsenal! If he’d have disallowed that goal, no one would have batted an eyelid and it would have been forgotten about by Monday.
Re: England v Senegal
I thought it was a blatant handball by any rule. He's intentionally handballed it, I don't understand the argument.

Ref never saw it, unsurprisingly.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jun 10, 2025 10:02 pmRef gave it, VAR agreed from memory. VAR raised the issue, then co-erced the ref into giving it by putting it up on screen.
Re: England v Senegal
No, not when it results in a goal. It’s when it’s a team defending that it’s not handball in the box if it’s accidental/unavoidable.
That was their justification for why the Koscielny goal stood- because it was accidental and why they changed the law because it’s obviously not a good look when someone handballs it into the net!
Re: England v Senegal
Sorry think I misunderstood you there!
Are you saying you think that Colwill intentionally handballed it?
I can see from one angle why the ref might have thought that but from the others it did look unintentional to me.

Re: England v Senegal
This is incorrect. If an accidental handball immediately leads to a teammate scoring a goal the goal counts. It is only disallowed if the handball is intentional, or if the goalscorer scores with their hand, or handballs (accidentally or deliberately) immediately before scoring.Lu-tze wrote: ↑Wed Jun 11, 2025 11:12 amThe new law that was brought in as a result of the Koscielny debacle against us says-

Re: England v Senegal
Yes, I think he knew it was his only way of getting any clean contact on it so intentionally used his arm.
Watch it again, the defender is ahead of him and heads it away if he doesn't use his arm, he knew that he wasn't winning it so got his arm infront.

You know, last night so many fans, commentators and players were calling the ref and VAR saying the goal should have stood, I thought I must have imagined what Colwill did deliberately with his body to win the ball. It's so easy to be influenced by the masses so good to read your post. We may still be in the minority but we have the most important person on our side.

Tuchel today talking about the extension of his contract. He knows he's been sussed. Totally inept starting selections and tactics in the last 2 games.

Re: England v Senegal
I've been extremely underwhelmed with his tactics and selection for the past two games.
Personally, I'd mirror the Villa set up (when all fit) -
--------Pickford
Trent-Stones-Guehi-Saka/Hall
-------Wharton-Rice
---Bellingham----MGW
-----Rodgers--Watkins
We are well-suited for the above. Gallagher plays in a similar sort of setup now at Atletico and could play across that midfield four. Kane is a fantastic finisher but is looking less mobile than ever - still has a part to play but I believe he'd be better coming on as a sub against a tired defence.
Players like Rashford can play in either of the front two positions as well (as he has been doing for Villa).

So why have you posted? "Look at me, I'm a football fan, and I didn't know England were playing" Can't you see how ridiculous that is?
