What is happening at Brentford?
Was there some sort of falling out? I get that, like Brighton, their business model is about renewal and constantly looking for the next batch of players and managers, but they seem to have been ready to let their Manager, several key players (Flekken, Mbuemo, Wissa......) go without much of a fight? Is it release clauses being met? Acknowledgement that contracts won't be renewed and pragmatic selling of assets?
I guess the proof will be in the pudding. I know Parker has been linked, but i think either McKenna or a foreign coach only hipsters are across is more likely.

Brentford always had a ceiling, and Frank has been banging his head on it for 3 years.
It's only natural that he would want to try something new. It's also natural that many players would see it as a time to move on too.

I don’t think it’s a case of letting them go without a fight, I think there has been an understanding/gentlemans agreement for a few years now between Frank & the owner that he will be allowed to go as & when a top club comes in.
Talking about 50m for Mbuemo which is massive money for a club of that stature so again I wouldn’t say without a fight, I think they just understand their place in the food chain and are also confident in their data led approach to recruitment & replacing who they sell. They are also one of those clubs that unlike us are happy sell any player at their peak value as they have already had the replacement long identified.
Think they have a massive season of transition ahead and staying up will be a result for them. Mbuemo & Wissa will take some replacing in terms of output if they choose to sell both, their game relies on the team being very efficient in the final third.

Flekken was a liability and has been replaced.
As for Frank leaving, it’s the nature of the beast, when a better opportunity comes calling, typically managers/players want to go and pursue that.

It's good management of the club.
I wish we had sold Tarky when a reported 35m had been offered.

You only have to read Brentford's announcement about Frank leaving, they seem a very decent club.
Re: What is happening at Brentford?
I like Frank he seems a genuine person but towards the end of the season didn’t he say that he was happy at Brentford? Then Spurs came flashing their thighs and he’s gone in an instant, so much for loyalty. I hope he is a success at Spurs but for Brentford it could be the first step on the slippery slope to relegation
Re: What is happening at Brentford?
In the absence of any other interest sure he’d be happy at Brentford. The paradigm shifts when a bigger club offers more money.
He hasn’t done an Owen Coyle
Good luck to him except against us!!

He's likely tripled his wage, it's a job.Tackler49 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 10:42 pmI like Frank he seems a genuine person but towards the end of the season didn’t he say that he was happy at Brentford?
