Do we know when TV fixtures will be announced? I thought the first few weeks were decided straight away.

EDIT: Spurs game not been picked for TV.

Has Everton at home been selected for TV? Why no boxing day fixture?

Good that our first home game gives us an opportunity to get some early points on the board. That said we failed to beat them last season!

Brutal start, again. The Sunderland game at least provides us a really good opportunity to hopefully get a win early doors.

Hopefully we don't get cut adrift and are still in with a good chance come January 31st. Our fixtures from the end of Jan through to May are about as decent as they get really.

We need to beat Sunderland in that early fixture because there's not a lot of opportunity for points in those first few games.

I know the old adage is you need to play everyone twice regardless, but that is another really tough start.

Hopefully some of those early fixtures are off the back of the opposition playing in Europe.

You say that, but let’s remember where Man United and Spurs finished last season. I’ve no doubt Spurs will improve under Frank, but what has changed at United?

I fully get what you're saying when you see the names of those clubs, but who knows when it comes to going to Old Trafford these days - and I personally expect a massive drop off from Forest this season. They will struggle to juggle Europe with the league I feel. There are opportunities, discounting the likes of City and Liverpool obviously!

A nice easy start against teams that finished 17th, 15th and 24th last season :)

Yeah it's a very good point - I was more referring to Liverpool, City and Villa than Spurs and United though (because who knows with those two).

It’s a must win, which is absolutely ridiculous so early in the season.

Sunderland’s first four games in comparison are WHU, us, Brentford and Palace.

I’m very much a glass half full person but those fixtures haven’t been kind at all and could very easily leave us adrift going into October.

This bit is the worst bit for me. I go down the fixture list and conclude that we may not get a point.in 38 games. It's brutally hard this league. Obvs I don't really think we won't get a point, but it seems very daunting.

Just want the season underway so I can get comfortable with the idea we can compete!

Very tough start. On the bright side, it gives the team and especially new signings some time to bed in properly before we come up to the more "winnable" fixtures.

Nice to have two home games at Christmas.
Last game v Wolves at home could be a tasty relegation dogfight too.

Love the first game tbh - new manager, lot of pressure after a disappointing league campaign last year, SP's boyhood team...

It’s another tough start. Spurs, United, City and Villa away in the first 7. Spurs is my local ground so I’ll take that first up, selfishly. Overall I think it adds a bit of extra pressure on getting some deals done as soon as possible.

One thing worth pointing out is that Spurs play the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday 13th August in Italy before we play them.

A "cut adrift" post just 13 minutes after the fixtures were released must be a new record.

Anyone thinking that's a tough start is in for a shock. Last season, every team we're facing was better than our first 3 opponents, bar Wolves. It's the easiest start we could possibly have had.

That fact we're worried about it kind of says where we are.

Which could be a good thing. I wanted tougher games first - when clubs haven't yet 'warmed up' and got into their stride.

Fantastic set of fixtures. Final game at home where we send down the opposition, unless they are already down.

Only two scary games out of the final 11 fixtures. Just a question of do we just be grateful for staying up or do we make a strong push for European qualification.

I quite like it.

Chance to bed in, one or two winnable ones at home. European games affecting the other teams. Spurs not on TV so likely only 3 days after an away European game against Paris St Germain.

I tend to view the huge away games against the big 6 as likely tubbings, with even a point a huge bonus. The home games a “occasion” so on the whole we delay those until later, which is good this time.

Interesting start for the Clarets back in the PL we have a bad block of 5 games Man Utd (a)—L/pool (h) —Forest (h) —City (a)— Villa (a). First home game should us get up running the fixtures seem to give us a better start this time than previous PL starts

Weighted due to Sunderland - as the others around us

Glad that Everton away isn't whilst I am abroad, really looking forward to checking their new gaff out. Newcastle away (as it stands) on a Saturday would be good, has been a rarity in our Premier League years.
