Thats some coup and gives some extra gravitas towards this initiative and a very powerful / influential voice for the fans to hold the club to account (and vice versa, be a diplomat on behalf of the club to the fans!)

Re: ARTICLE: Barry Kilby to head new ISA
When I think of Barry, I have lots of fond memories, but that day in 2009/10, in the away end at Old Trafford, after Owen Coyle had jumped ship, where the whole away end called ‘There’s only one Barry Kilby’… was very special. It showed he was one of us; that we got him and he got us.

And despite him having not been chairman for over six years it was the same chant at the end of our away game against Olympiacos. He is very much one of us. He’s been a Claret for a long, long time.jdrobbo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 4:58 pmWhen I think of Barry, I have lots of fond memories, but that day in 2009/10, in the away end at Old Trafford, after Owen Coyle had jumped ship, where the whole away end called ‘There’s only one Barry Kilby’… was very special. It seems that others see that two. On this thread there are posters who have been prompted to join the new ISA now

Worth noting, he has been the Honorary president of the London Clarets since taking over from the late Peter PikeClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 1:03 pmJust announced, Barry Kilby has accepted an invitation to become president of the new BFC ISA

Re: ARTICLE: Barry Kilby to head new ISA
I remember introducing myself to Barry at a Clarets Independent Supporters Association (CISA) meeting in 1998 which he very generously attended while he was attempting to buy the club. "Aaah," he said, "you're the chap who described me as 'B@stard-based businessman Barry Killjoy' in the Burnley fanzine," which rather took the wind out of my sails.
Seriously, he's the perfect man to head-up the new ISA and I wish both him and the ISA every success.

Re: ARTICLE: Barry Kilby to head new ISA
And his business was based there on Preston New Road, I had to deal with a trip there to interview him one day. When news came out that he was going to invest in the club, I was aware that his company sponsored our last home game of each season but the name rung bells (Kilby, not Killjoy) rang a bell because I'd known his dad who never missed a game home or away. I soon learned that Barry was just as committed a Claret as his dad had been.Sausage wrote: ↑Wed Jun 18, 2025 11:19 pmI remember introducing myself to Barry at a Clarets Independent Supporters Association (CISA) meeting in 1998 which he very generously attended while he was attempting to buy the club. Great to see that several more people have signed up for a year’s membership with BFC ISA. Really encouraging.
