For a family with three kids, who want all three kits and keeper kits. You must be talking a grand a year!?
Ever heard of the word ‘no’?

I doubt there's any family bought 3 kids all the kits available, and if there is, they can afford it.

I don't think it's a particularly good example to be using to highlight the price of kits.

Give me a good example then. Who is the target audience?

I still remember the excitement of getting my first kits. (Well the first that weren’t handed down). And I was even more hooked when I had them. And could play in them.

Tbh the club are missing a trick if they increase the prices ( again). With so much competition for attracting fans these days, the market for football shirts and ease of buying them.

If they significantly undercut other clubs, there’s an opportunity there for the club.

"Dad can I have the new Man Utd shirt" - "no I have bought you a Burnley one because it was £20 cheaper" - "Thanks Dad I support Burnley now"

Have you kids ? If you have will you be looking around for which club is cheapest then buying your kid that shirt ? If you have kids then the answer is no you won't be buying a different club to save a few quid.

I guarantee if the United one is £20 cheaper there are lots of kids who could / would be in Burnley shirts that will be in United shirts.

It’s a similar reason as to why many start supporting United or Liverpool. Etc. they don’t have the means to go to the turf. And it’s easier and cheaper to watch them on tv.

And yes. My kids wear shirts from all over the world. Almost all are collected from online sales. They have multiple kits Germany for example for their football classes. That were a fraction of the cost of Burnley kits so practically have 3-5 for the price of 1 ( buying last seasons or before, in the sale).

But we are missing the point.

£70 for an adults shirt is scandalous. But the kids mini kits even bigger joke - and where the missed opportunities are.

At least an adult can wear their shirt for however long they see fit! In most cases a kids will last them 1 maximum 2 seasons for multiple obvious reasons. It’s unaffordable (especially these days) for parents to afford them.

Do your kids support all these teams all over the world ? Going to cost you a fair bit in travel if buying them a shirt means hey will support them and go to games.

There were season tickets for under 12s for less than £60, if my task was to convince a child to support a club I would take them to games over buying a shirt if funds were limited.

I don't understand your comment re target audience

All I'm saying is that the example you gave of 3 kids each having 4 kits bought for them is a highly unlikely scenario

To all those mocking the shirt. This looks like a brilliant story. And has certainly made people talk. Which was probably half the aim.

I don’t know their story but sounds like a good one.

I have 2 kids, they pick a shirt each when they are released. If they want the others they ask for them for birthdays/Christmas/holiday clothes.

I can't imagine that there are people going buying home, away, third, keeper variant top, shorts and socks.

That just doesn't seem like reality to me.

Yeah £60 is expensive for a football top, but it's cheaper than a stone island top or whatever youngsters want these days
Everything is expensive, shirts have only gone up in line with everything else.

I don't think they are extraordinarily priced. Sure I'd prefer them to be £30, but that's not real world

Considering not a single club in the country does what you are suggesting it seems they are all missing your point.

I am sure it makes sense to you though

I don’t think the issue here is the sponsor being a spud company, I think the issue is the bright red logo. If it was dark blue it would look alright.

The shirt is quite nice otherwise

I think it's pretty cool. Local sponsor, not a gambling/betting company, retro style logo.

This is a superb story. Good on the lads for getting involved.
The logo is well executed - it's a decent graphic.

I can understand that PNE might have wanted Google or Coca Cola to sponsor them, but having a positive story local brand on your shirt isn't to be sniffed at.

It’s gone in a tangent. ( as per ).

The point I was making is that shirt prices are ridiculous. And it’s an even bigger problem when clubs now release as many shirts as they do.

Historically a shirt was a home and away and last a couple of seasons. That then became three shirts. Than then became every season. And it’s now every season and closer and closer to £100 to kit out a kid in one of the kits.

The kids women’s team kit for example for England. You can pay from £65 to £120 for the home shirt alone. (Shorts and extra £30+)

If anyone thinks that’s acceptable. Then fair play. Maybe I’m out of touch.

We are being fleeced. And people accept it. It’s scandalous.

£100+ for some polyester that’s manufactured in the far east that lasts a year, two - absolute max for a kid!

Anyway. Much more important matters at hand.

Well done to the Nobbers. Good to see a local company sponsoring their local club, although I do accept the point regarding how lucrative the deal can be.

Re the England ladies' kit above... I don't understand how the 'Authentic' (as opposed to the more common, lesser-quality replica) shirt can be available in kids sizes?

Rumour has it Kenny Jackett could be next manager. Seen as a good down to earth candidate.

Had an initial impact with record first day sales and a big turn out for the launch although it doesn't say how many turned up for the spud.

Three shirts of future clarets in that first pic, along with Lucketti who I think Stan very nearly signed.

I know Preston fans never experience any joy in football but I didn't realise it was that bad that some were seen with deckchairs sat out for hours on Saturday for a free jacket potato.
