New TV footage
Not sure how the celebrations one will work as you can't celebrate goals because of VAR.

Re: New TV footage
They announced this a good while ago - ridiculous for me allowing them into the pitch.
Hope they interview an irate substituted players who gives them a mouthful.

Re: New TV footage
Can see it now. Camera man gets clouted (or the player collides with and gets injured!)
I like the idea of the interview with subs. I’m sure I remember them interviewing Stan or possibly Adrian Heath on the sidelines at half time / mid game. Back in the day.

Re: New TV footage
it's grim tbh. Even as someone who consumes his footy exclusively on TV (for obvious reasons) I can't see value in any of it. We have all these things in the NFL.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 3:18 pmThey announced this a good while ago - ridiculous for me allowing them into the pitch.

As an aside, during this Club World Cup farce we've had the TV going split screen during substitutions so they can show an advert. That'll be the next thing to be brought in I reckon and I can see getting full blown adverts when players go down injured.
I've said it many times, the biggest thing I miss since moving is being able to go in the Turf. Being able to be in the ground is an absolute privilege.
Re: New TV footage
Imagine being really annoyed at being subbed and then some muppet shoves a mic in your face! How bizarre.

Re: New TV footage
Coming to your football stadium in the not too distant future:
• A vendor running up and down aisles flogging hot dogs and beer.
• Brizzle City have a free kick 20 yards out, Scott Twine comes on to try his luck, he’ll go off the field after the attempt.
• A player is being substituted………….brought to you by Oddies Pies.
Etc, etc. Go stuff American sports culture where the sun never shines

Re: New TV footage
The player interviews after the game are boring as hell, why do they think we want to listen to them during the game?

Re: New TV footage
Honestly they have it here already. Its not that much of an issue. They tend to do the HT interviews by the tunnel so it doesnt change much.

Footy is going down the khazi at an increasing rate of knots.
Serious thought now being given to calling it a day after this season.
Bought a season ticket so stuck with it this season.

i concur, but the media ponces that run the rule over fatuous dross like talk sport, and sky , have tapped into the scummy underbelly . the betting fraternities and the american slop punditry are always seeking out tabloid style ideas to flog to the daft sods that cannot just watch a simple game of football.LincsWoldsClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 11:29 pmWe just want to watch footballers play football - why is it so difficult to understand

I think that was Chester away in the cup. Mullen was the manager and was being interviewed when Inchy scored a cracker from outside the box.CyrilEbokiPoh wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 3:23 pmCan see it now. Camera man gets clouted (or the player collides with and gets injured!)

Re: New TV footage
I'm not sure why people are so upset by this.
For the ones who can't face to go to a live football game do they want to feel closer and more connected to the experience or not?
People are forever moaning on here about feeling a connection, surely being closer to the celebrations and the action will make it better experience for them.
For those who go the games it won't change anything

Re: New TV footage
We get it in the NRL.
Some woman comes on the pitch at half time and swoops on a player coming off. She makes a statement, rather than ask a question, then sticks the mike in the (him or her) players face, and nods her head constantly whilst the player prattles on about something else.
I find it annoying. Luckily, at my age, I need to be somewhere else in the house when half-time arrives.

Re: New TV footage
Gordonvale, as I don't usually need to be elsewhere at half time (good bladder) I get around the half-time interview issue by recording the match and then start watching 20mins later. Come half-time, fast forward through the rubbish and pick up at the resumption.

"This substitute interview brought to you by Preparation H"
"Pain, swelling & itching" etc......please no.
As for who mentioned the split screen thing above....they completely destroyed the US open golf with that this year...horrible idea.

Re: New TV footage
Even though every premier league, and several championship games every week are live here. I just can’t be arsed watching anymore. I just watch the games we play at pub friendly kick off times, mainly for the social side of it. Football bores me to death. I’d rather watch rugby league. But that’s getting affected as well. Technology is screwing up every sport!!

Re: New TV footage
If the interviews see seething players and end up controversial then crack on. I’d imagine that they’ll be ridiculously bland as per briefings from their respective clubs. Doubt this will last if theirs something rather amusing said by a tetchy player

Could this mean a cameraman sliding on his knees alongside a celebrating player?

Re: New TV footage
They have had those interviews at 1st and 2nd round of the fa cup for a few years.
It must be as annoying as f. The managers are trying to concentrate most of the time, and this fool turns up and asks an idiotic question. I imagine that that is the last thing anybody wants. It seems a likely "bringing the game into disrepute" trigger, and having to pay fines and go to those hearings, in general, is a complete waste of time, effort and money.

Re: New TV footage
Can we please keep cameras from showing managers during the game. Especially ones like Frank who chew with thier mouth open
Also ignore "celebrities " and former players who happen to be watching.Concentrate on coverage of the football not this cult of celebrity nonsense

Re: New TV footage
I think mine would as well. It drives me mad when they stand there chewing like that. My mum used to say 'stop chewing like a cow chewing it's cud' .
I would hope they wouldn't be allowed in the changing room at half time. They would be writing the second half tactics down on a piece of paper and passing it round the team so the opposition couldn't listen in.

Adrian Heath definitely did an interview from the sidelines. It was against Bury who were managed by Stan.

Re: New TV footage
I think that’s exactly what they are hoping for - or maybe more to pick up the raw emotion of the player after the substitution - but anything that will boost viewing numbers.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Jun 27, 2025 3:18 pmThey announced this a good while ago - ridiculous for me allowing them into the pitch.

I agree about the pitch point, especially now since they have those cameras above the pitch that zoom right in.
I like the half time interviews and dressing room access ideas though, myself.
