The difference is Onana was coming in on the back of a season as a Champions League finalist. Trafford is coming on the back of keeping clean sheets against Plymouth and the like. Not that I’m dulling down his achievements, he was great last year, but that’s how he’s going to be priced.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jun 28, 2025 4:02 pmMan Utd spent over £47m with add ons with Onana and he is a liability. The bar has been raised on price ceilings for keepers-Pickford joined Everton 8 years ago and Trafford has the same potential as Pickford when he joined Everton, if not more, and is younger than Pickford was at the time

His price is what Burnley FC decide it is, for the next 2 years at least.

When I was in the RAF people often called people Shag, Shagger or Shagnasty. Think it’s a regional thing but it’s been fairly common during my life. No reference to sheep, those were usually called Taff.

Loum Tchaouna Sold to Burnley
Lotito also listed the offers he rejected for some of his key players, while confirming the sale of Loum Tchaouna for €15 million.

ClaretAL, don't just read the headline, read the article underneath. He has not revealed which club he has sold the Frenchman to.

The Lazio boss probably means he accepted a bid. I’m expecting there is no medical and thus no signing yet, but it should happen this week.

Interesting post on twitter from the club . Basically a video of an unnamed hill announcement 2nd of July so it’s either new kit. Or in the video the hill is rather brown in appearance. - just saying
Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
I think as it says 2nd July you can rule it out being Brownhill
Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
Given it has a Castore logo on the video I'd assume new kit.

Because for all his great work last season there are still big question marks over his PL ability. A good season in the PL and he would attract those figuresFeedTheArf wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 6:24 pmI absolutely agree, but my point was that is why he’s not attracting bids of £35m-40m.

There’s no evidence to support that. The most a premier league goal keeper was sold for in history is Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea to Real Madrid for £31mgandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 7:06 pmBecause for all his great work last season there are still big question marks over his PL ability. Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
That was in 2018. How come outfield players prices are rising through the roof but goalkeepers are staying the same? The game must be getting harder for them as well with all the athletes and the pace of the game now. They also keep changing the ball so it has a life of it's own when someone hits it.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 7:19 pmThere’s no evidence to support that. That was 8 years ago and I think we can all agree transfer fees have gone friggin mental since then.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 7:19 pmThere’s no evidence to support that. I think the perceived low ball bid is much more down to his lack of proven Prem credentials than anything else.

That's the 1 thing that's holding the fee back he's not proven in the PL & without doubt he's certainly improved since then but being honest the last time he featured in the PL he didn't impress you couldn't even say he made a pigs ear of the job.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Sun Jun 29, 2025 7:06 pmBecause for all his great work last season there are still big question marks over his PL ability. There are literally two keepers that have gone for crazy money.
If anything else the rest have shown to be pretty steady at around the 20m mark

Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
That's true. Roughly 2 years ago henderson went for £15m with £5 m add-ons when he was 26 arguably a better keeper & certainly had more top flight pedigree although traffords younger £20m is thereabouts where you are.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 10:49 amTbf there’s absolutely nothing to support that transfer fees have gone mental for keepers.

Henderson had refused to play for United after they messed him about and they wanted rid meaning it was probably less than it should have been.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 10:53 amThat's true. Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
He was an established keeper having successful loans at nottingham forest & Sheffield United despite never cementing himself as the number 1 at old trafford with england recognition. Trafford is younger 4 years younger than Henderson (when Henderson left) & in them 2 years allow for some inflation but you can't get away from Trafford not proven at PL level & taking all into consideration £20m is about fair in the market.
Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
But the England U21 keeper went for £19m two years ago with zero premier league or championship experience, so based on that Trafford has got to be worth significantly more.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 11:11 amHe was an established keeper having successful loans at nottingham forest & Sheffield United despite never cementing himself as the number 1 at old trafford with england recognition. Not if you subscribe to the premise that pants were pulled down & somebody paid over the odds.

Ah, so you want to accept we paid over the odds but not that Henderson was a fire sale. Anything to do us down I suppose.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 11:26 amNot if you subscribe to the premise that pants were pulled down & somebody paid over the odds.

Crap hole near Croydon or a team close to the beautiful Trough of Bowland no contest
Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
But note who else may be in for him
However, Diouf is yet to give his green light to the move. The 22-year-old midfielder is also in talks with Crystal Palace.

From the youtube highlights he looks to be a centre mid who can get a team 15-20 yards further up the pitch by dribbling once he's won itTricky Trevor wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 8:13 am2g+2a in 67 appearances. I’m guessing he’s a defensive CM?

Wonder if Anass could put a good word in for us?
Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
So we've apparently reached an agreement with Lens but the player would rather go to Palace.
Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
In the past he’d been keen on a move to Palace, given their interest in him, but they haven’t re entered the talks and we are close to finalising terms with him coming here.
