Tyler Morton is a good player. If he's available and we want a tall, rangy central midfielder, I'd be surprised if we're not interested.

He might be more concerned about his relegation wage drop clause kicking in than making the first team. And that is far more likely to happen here than Palace.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 11:19 amDiouf MIGHT not make the first team at Palace, unless they sell Wharton. Re: Summer transfer window
Footie Insider reckons BHA are ready to sell Evan Ferguson for £28m.
Knock £5m off that I’d be all over it, or as a loan with a mandatory buy if we stay up.
I feel he is just what we need, big, strong, can finish, but has had a tricky time and needs some love and tactical advice. Could easily be a £50m player if he can find his form again, and it would keep us up if he did it with us. I see him as a better version of Chris Wood potentially but Wood has maximised what he has and Ferguson has to figure that out.

Would be taking a look at Jack Harrison on a free transfer. Decent experience and only 28.

I wonder why he's not made the step up...lack of game time?
Being 1st choice striker might be just what he needs

I like Evan Ferguson, but £28m is an insane price, considering his struggles for the last 18 months.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 2:57 pmFootie Insider reckons BHA are ready to sell Evan Ferguson for £28m.

Re: Summer transfer window
Agree on this. But a loan with a permanent if we stay up could be a very good deal for all.
That said I can imagine him wanting to feature in a more attack minded squad where he can get games and more chances. Like a palace especially if they’re in Europe. (Palace may be a bad example with Brighton. But point stands).

Summary from the article, via ClaretXtra:
Despite Crystal Palace’s interest, Oliver Glasner is not making the 22-year-old a priority, while Scott Parker is determined to complete the signing.

Re: Summer transfer window
The news is behind the paywall, which someone else has posted online. Essentially it says Diouf isn’t seen as priority for Oliver Glasner, while Palace might wait for the sale of a midfielder, and so we have hope we can seal the £17m deal.

Re: Summer transfer window
End of the day, if we're the only ones in for him then he is going to come. He will no doubt double or triple his salary at Burnley you'd imagine.
Re: Summer transfer window
From the youtube clips I've seen I'd rather have Warren Bondo than Andy Diouf.billyhamilton82 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 12:01 pmThis sounds to me like one of the deals we had under wraps as mentioned by Matt Williams and Palace have arrived late to the party and turned his head.
Now my guess is that we've got a back up just in case he goes to Palace in Warren Bondo.

Re: Summer transfer window
Bondo and Diouf both look good on the You Tube clips. Hopefully the recruitment team have been tracking both and base their decisions on their research and findings, and hopefully we can secure one if the first choice fails. I remember how a few on here became excited when they saw You Tube clips of Hountondji

The video clips of Diouf often end when he's in position for a killer pass, cross or shot. If there was a good end result, they'd include that as well.

Re: Summer transfer window
The issue with Ferguson is that there have been injuries and when he went on loan to West Ham it didn't work out. This is more interesting given that Potter was someone he had worked with back when Potter was the Brighton manager.
The fact that he didn't manage to do much under Potter is the wory for me. He is very young and may simply need more time.

Dominic Calvert Lewin is currently 2/5 to join Chelsea and Jamie Vardy is priced at 25/1 to join Burnley.williamjblazkowicz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 5:24 pmArticle is behind a paywall but Mike McGrath from The Telegraph:

So both of those scenarios are looking very unlikely as things stand.

Article says we really like Arokodare but Genk want £25m which is seen as too high for us at this stage, and we might wait to see if the price drops as the window progresses.williamjblazkowicz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 5:24 pmArticle is behind a paywall but Mike McGrath from The Telegraph:

Re: Summer transfer window
Barkley's had a rather disappointing career. He's a player but not consistent and not a worker. Luton got some mileage out of him after a sabbatical in Nice. Was very surprised when he returned to Villa. Just three starts in the PL last season.warksclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 12:51 pmI cant answer that but he played all but 4 of Luton's games in the PL-would have played more but signed late in the window. Todays game is very much about squad and rotation, but if we got 60-70 minutes out of him each game I think he would be a major asset. He had a huge impact at Luton, whilst appreciating they were relegated. THe fact Luton could get him to sign offers me hope that it might be possible
Re: Summer transfer window
Decent shout but another wide man - do we really need any more especially given our weaknesses at CM and Striker requiring more attentionFeedTheArf wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 2:58 pmWould be taking a look at Jack Harrison on a free transfer. Decent experience and only 28.

6f6 beast up top?
Yes please.
Hey at least we're not gonna get bullied next season - seems SP and the recruitment team are well aware of the physical test of the PL.
If we can't win every game, at least be hard to beat and make it difficult for the opposition; happy that we're going in this direction

Brownhill to Leicester is the rumour on X.
I get that Leicester would throw more money at it than us if we were in the same league, but disappointing if we’re losing out to them when they’re in the Champ.

Brownhill signing for Leicester would be a bit odd.
Aren’t they still facing a points deduction? They are certainly without a manager.
