If we are in for Arokodare, I fear we have used the same scout who recommended Foster and Hountondji. Yes, he looks to be taller and bigger built, but the similarities in play are remarkable!...

The same type of raw player, where the build-up play is more prominent rather than putting it into the back of the net, has a goalscoring record that is equally as disappointing and with a very similar meagre past goalscoring record...

I hope we're not making the same mistake for a third time!

It’s an exciting one. He’s massive. And his record is pretty good and improving too.

Houtondji was playing in the French second tier. This lad for Genk who have finished first in Belgium three times in last seven years. (They haven’t always won the league because of the weird way Belgium league runs).

He seriously is.

I think Mr Parker would love a big striker like that.

After keeping tabs on Arokodare for a few years now, i can confidently say this man can provide goals for this season

Arokodare would be an exciting signing but I share BigChaCha's sentiment, I generally think big tall centre forwards do pretty well in Europe but not so well in the PL, I think it's a lot less easy to bully defenders.

We're signing exciting talent but this lad and Tchaouna for example still look very raw.

"It's done for the transfer of Loum Tchaouna from Lazio to Burnley: the documents have been signed

Lazio's first operation in this summer transfer window is outgoing. The Biancocelesti have in fact finalized the sale of Loum Tchaouna to Burnley.

The documents for the transfer were signed a few minutes ago, which will take place on loan with an obligation to buy for 15 million and 250 thousand euros.

The Frenchman therefore says goodbye to Lazio after just one season, in which he only scored 2 goals and 1 assist in the 37 games played with Baroni.

Now for him a new adventure in the Premier League, with the aim of redeeming himself after the unlucky year in Biancoceleste."

The one thing I felt last season was how badly we needed an out and out striker, having only Foster, Barnes, Houn and Flemming really worries me. I'm not sure any of them are PL quality. Hope to be proven wrong - but a striker surely has to be a big target for us before the season starts.

As a general rule the lowest scoring teams in the PL are firmly in the relegation mix. Last season all 3 of the relegated clubs were the lowest scorers. As it currently stands we certainly lack the firepower needed to survive in the PL but the window is still open and we all live in hope.

I’d expect to start Edwards and Anthony with Luca & Loum to come on. If L&L start we are looking good out wide. A striker that can head a ball would be a bonus.

Sunderland signing highly rated defensive midfielder Noah Sadiki from Union SG in Belgium. We were linked with him under VK for a fee of under £1m a few years ago, he was at Anderlecht at the time.

I do like our business so far, but I’m impressed that Sunderland have targeted the key area of the pitch first and foremost, something I hope we do asap (I’d say our midfield is currently the worst in the league).

Yeah Sunderland look to be going for it with some big sums of money on midfielders.

We seem to be looking to add to midfield as well, just not coming off yet. It is absolutely imperative that we add a couple of quality players there which I’m sure we will.

Agree, ksr, I’m fairly optimistic on that front, given the Diouf link, just hoping it’s in time, Berge was a great signing last time but ended up arriving after pre season finished, never ideal for a key area of the pitch in the Prem.

As for Sunderland, they are also now spending £22m on a keeper from Chelsea (Petrovic), who impressed on loan at Strasbourg last season.

Have the loan rules changed from 2 years ago? I thought it was 2 domestic loans but you can get more foreign loans. We had Fofana, Assignon and JBL all on loan 2 years ago. Probably others I’ve forgotten about too….

Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time. - The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.

A big striker.
A big centre midfielder.
Michael Keane.
An experienced goalkeeper.

Keep amdouni. Mike Tresor fit and available.

And I’d be happy.

That can't be right, when I suggested Keane would be a brilliant signing I was told he's nowhere near good enough and Moyes only said nice things about him recently because he's leaving.

He would definitely improve us and Mike Mcgrath mentioned we were looking at him last week, but I don't think there is a universe in which we could afford to pay his wages.

Reports in France we haven’t agreed teams on diouf and have been him an ultimatum, Matt Williams probably threatened to pull the deal. If the player is dragging his feet then the club are doing right by walking away
