Interesting link
Scored a bag load in La Liga 2 on a couple of occasions but struggled with the step up.
Would seem a bit of a risk in that respect

First paragraph is an extremely hard read.
Sterling as an alternative to chamberlain, they play completely different positions, I thought chamberlain was just typical beskitas and Turkish media as seems to be every window
Too much "hard reading" in this chat - too many think they have mates who run the transfers in this club
If anybody was so much in the know, for all these random players - how come Walker slipped under the radar with not one mention?

I’ve read it back. Siri clearly does not understand Burnley.
I am not close enough to anyone at the club these days. And have no reason to believe it’s true or not. But came from someone who I trust who thinks we are pursuing sterling and chamberlain. Like I say genuinely don’t know either way but I’m certainly not in the know

The walker type transfers are very rare these days. In the age of social media and suchlike.
I don’t have any contacts at the club. Don’t have any hard evidence. But equally have no reason to doubt the source of this info.
I can’t see it myself. And truth be told think he’s way past his best.

Personally I think he’s past his best, has lost both motivation and pace, and wouldn’t be a wise use of our funds. But what do I know.

Muric didn’t play a single match against a top 4 side. From the sample of 10 matches listed just 2 were against top 6 teams and 4 were against teams in the bottom 6.
Trafford did. Played 8. Won 0. Drawn 0. Lost 8. Conceded 25.
Also for balance. Against the same ten teams as muric.
Played 10. Won 1. Drawn 2. Lost 7. Conceded 20. Points 5.
Vs Won 2. Drawn 4. Lost 4. conceded 16. Points 10.

Cajuste from Napoli (Ipswich last season) would be an absolutely excellent signing. One of their top performers last campaign. One of those ‘Never fall in love with a loan player’ type of players! Highly rated.

From Keith Downie tweet
Leeds United are close to agreeing a deal with Newcastle for Sean Longstaff.

The newly-promoted club have made a £10m + £2m bid for the 27-year-old midfielder.

This deal – if & when accepted – would represent pure profit for #NUFC. Talks with Leeds have taken place for a while.

The academy graduate has been with his boyhood club for almost 20 years, and has one year left on his deal.
Just the type of combative midfielder we should be looking at

Indeed. Never understood why some complain at goalkeepers or defenders that hoof it clear at the first sign of danger.
Rather have that than concede some of the stupid goals given away because teams are trying to be too clever.
Hi Spijed,
Because like playing 4-4-2, a keeper who doesn't play out with their feet/short throws every time is anathema.

Saved it? The back pass and pace of it happen countless times every game. It rolled under his foot.

You set a pretty high bar for daft comments but this is up there as your craziest
It’s hard to think of a goal conceded by any keeper that would be any more completely 100% down to the keeper than the Brighton one.
Oh and btw when you say “pretend fullback” for Berge I’m guessing you mean coming deep for the ball which if you missed this one he did pretty much in every game he played.

I recall the days the teams were being leaked during dyches era. (I know who that particular leak was). It’s so hard to police these days. Both with people wanting to be the first to find out and people being the first to shout out.

Berge in fairness did that regularly to good effect. He showed for the ball and always tried to pick it up deep and start attacks or carry the ball.
Equally we often started our attacks from the keeper. So it wasn’t an unusual situation. And the ball was t hit hard. I’m a big defender of Muric. But the reality is this was his error.
The only thing you can point at Berge is - you are taught from a young age never to pass it at your own goal. Pass it to the side of it. However that was in the days when the keeper was there to save it or hoof it clear. Muric was basically played as a sweeper and it’s the sort of pass that was played to him often and to midfielders countless times a game.

Watching this back. That goal was inevitable at some point with the way we ****** about with it at the back under kompany in the prem. it was a necessary part of playing the way we did. But one with his unnecessary risk too.
We saw it first at home to Blackpool. And various times we got away with it in the championship.

I don't think it's anything to do with learning to lock anything up. The very nature with some of our most recent signings are pretty much done on the hop with lack/fast research not really utilizing time to make people aware. Whereas more under the old regime time was taken to carry out more research & dare I say get it right more often but not always. Sasha & Fabrizio are slow out of the starting blocks because it's pretty much bang done.

Can we please stop discussing Pope and Muric in this thread, neither of them have even been linked with us this window
Make a new thread if needed. Let's try and keep on track a little, reading through pages of discussion not relating to current transfers is hard work.

Sunderland have signed about three players they were after so if we do that they will all be suicidal.

It would be fun on their board though.

There are now plenty of teams who play similar suicidal football at the back and there has been for a number of years. Yet how many times have you seen a ball run under the keepers foot like that one ?
The inevitable consequence of playing football like that is not the Brighton goal it’s the many other goals you see from a misplaced pass or opposition players pressing and winning the ball back - for examples check out half of the Ipswich goals conceded last season !

Fabrizio reporting Mcatee can leave City for fee around £20m/£25m. Number of clubs want him so I suppose that leaves us out, if we were ever interested in a loan.

If it’s going to happen we need to just get it done asap so we have an established number one in, on good time.
It should only be done if our valuation is met, and within a timeframe also dictated by us. And, no matter who, or how many, they send shouldn’t alter this.
