I've not read all the thread, but if moving people is going ahead at this stage, then it's pretty shocking communication from the club.

Let's face it we've known we've been getting promoted for a while.

Surely some tentative planning or discussions with the Prem would have taken place about required changes, so why no comms and seemingly so much secrecy?

Will people have to move or is that speculation? Is it just highly likely that tunnell to be added but the rest speculation?

The atmosphere may improve not deteriorate.

The away supporters being next to the home section of the CFS won't change but them now being next to the Longside may see the slumbering giant awoken, finally.

I have to say this seems pretty poor from the club if true.

Whilst I won't be affected I wouldn't be pleased if I was being moved from my normal (and purchased) seat to somewhere else without being informed of the decision prior to making my purchase.

Seems very very dodgy.
I’m assuming you are saying you won’t be affected as you don’t sit in the CFS, but it’s not just the CFS it’s effecting.

If you sit in the Longside or Jimmy Mc stands and access/exit via the lane off Belvedere like a lot of fans do, and they use this as “away only” then it sounds like it’s going to be a long walk around the ground

Spot on wilks. I use the bus now and go to the bus station having left the ground from the Longside upper. If they close that route for home fans it will be a long walk round.

When I first saw this idea mentioned on here I thought it was infeasible. I am aware that organisations who would need to know, don’t know.

I have now been told it is happening so will await the details.

Awful from the club to have not told anyone yet, theres going to be a huge backlash because of this.

Maybe give all those affected a free shirt or a free away ticket etc

I dont think the club would do this, so I think this is a wind up by the poster suggesting this will happen. Screenshot highlights (from Google maps) what the issues are for the tunnel etc, and as CT says, the gap between BL and CFS is tight. I certainly wouldn't be happy if had a home seat on the edge of the stand and they moved me to the equivalent mirror seat on the other side, the viewing angle would be massively inferior.

I sit almost right behind the goal, and from the image I would (if mirrored) be almost level with the edge of the penalty area - which would really be unsatisfactory. If the club do this I will be asking for a refund (on 3 STs in there) and give it up all together. Not because of the move, I would understand that if it was timely and with the fans considerations in mind. If it is being done like suggested and I turn up to the first home game to be told my seat has moved - f#ck'em - I'll stop going.

I'd assume you'd find out before showing up on the Sunderland game or you'd be showing up to try in get in at the away turnstiles

Away fans never had a problem going into the old Long side. Just park the coaches along the main road, not sure why they need to park right outside. We had some long walks at Wolves and Pompey away many times just as an example

If it's true then their expecting around 14,000 home fans to crush through the narrow gates in a few minutes at the end of the game.
Not a good idea. Even worse if there is an emergency.

Probably the end of any home fans going in the cricket club ore match.

Maybe it'll be away only depending who the fixture is against, previous history between the clubs, any issues during the match, on a game by game day by day sort of basis

ASSUME

makes an ASS out of U and ME

You'd like to think right, but we're less than 6 weeks away from first home game. If this is actually on the cards (apologies for besmirching ClaretsPadiham in my original post) you'd really like to think the club would at the very minimum inform the fans in the stand that this is happening or under consideration. To just do it and expect us fans to go along with it is disgusting IMO. I like my seat, I like the location and I like the routine for match days that I have and that includes the access to the stand from along the cricket field from where I park before and after the game.

With consultation or even just information with an explanation, it could be viewed as an acceptable. Doing it with less than 6 weeks to first home game after fans have committed their loyalty to the club by renewing their season tickets for the same seat (and not being given any option to relocate if they choose) is quite frankly abhorrent from the club, hence my initial reaction if this goes ahead.

could this be the pre-emptive strike to make the cricket club reconsider moving - or allowing us to rebuild the stand? Just throwing it out there...

At the moment maybe 1000 home fans are in an area for perhaps 1500. BFC no longer sells tickets for the empty seats so there are 500 never used seats. (These numbers are very loose). When the new home end opens with the smaller plastic seats I would expect a capacity of 1000 to suit and more away fans admitted. We all bought our seats to be with the same groups all around us not just friends and family immediately next to us. That's partly what makes the CFS so enjoyable but it looks like the club don't care and are just chasing a few extra pounds.

If it is going ahead and if all CF ST holders are being moved to the 'mirror' seat at the other side of the stand, they would surely be sat with the same people.

Maybe a move to get the cricket club to sell up. Less.income before the game if no home fans and significantly less after, again if no home fans. And maybe less income from home supporters car parking fees.

Good question but if they leave them empty (no ST.holder), does it really matter if people have got used to moving to empty seats to be with their mates?

How can Burnley Football Club control who goes into a cricket club, that's not on their land, and is nothing to do with them?

Burnley football police can control it though, and if they have liased with the club over the plans, they can make it away only for safety ? Id presume ?

Pretty poor from the club this really. Both the sneaky nature of it and lack of communication.
Plus given their track record in the ticket office has anyone got any faith it won't be a complete balls up, with about 1500 season ticket holders to move?

I can see the reasoning behind it and I do think it may improve the atmosphere but if it does happen and the seats are switched it’s an absolute disgrace that fans haven’t been informed almost a month before the season starts.

I have emailed the ticket office to ask the question directly, but this is a farce if true. I've renewed my ticket expecting the same seat and to be moved without even being told is really poor.

Not much, and it's not like you're getting out of there anyway until it's clear.

The original plan was apparently to take all home fans out of the cricket field, but they reconsidered and came up with this solution.

Will see how it goes before I criticise

It’s not about getting away, it the distance people with any mobility issues now have consider.

Somebody that sits in block 1-3 of the Longside and parks in the CC will now have to add 10-20 minutes onto what should be a 5-10 minute walk

Just thinking out loud but could this be a consequence of the incidents after the Sheffield Utd game. Not heard anything about any FA reprimands.

Anyway if I still had a seat there I would emailing the club and asking them if the rumours are true and why nothing has been broadcast to those season ticket holders affected by this..

I’m not defending the club here, but it doesn’t make much difference whether they tell CFS season ticket holders now or in a week or two when the work is complete. As long as they give notice before the start of the season and offer a seat swap option. It’s not like they are going to stop the works if someone objects. There may be a logistical reason for the delay such as wanting the works to be complete and seats numbered etc before notifying fans.

I think this is quite likely re moving the tunnel. The behaviour of some fans after that match posed a threat to player and staff safety and having the tunnel in the corner of the BLS/CFS will go some way to mitigating this.

In terms of switching home and away fans, this could be due to wanting home fans either side of the tunnel, and may also be so that home support is more visible from tv coverage.

Not sure just why anyone in the CF would want to move, just because their seat will be on the opposite side of the stand?
It will make sense if plans go ahead. Changes to both corners. Can't see many complaining if it does go ahead.

I've not had time to read this thread, but is the suggestion now that home fans won't be able to use Ormerod Yard to gain access to the ground?
Correct.

Give them the lower 3 blocks getting **** wet through in the winter. Make the cricketfield a fortress. No brainer
Not enough seats to meet the minimum requirement.

Not much, and it's not like you're getting out of there anyway until it's clear.

The original plan was apparently to take all home fans out of the cricket field, but they reconsidered and came up with this solution.
Now I find that really difficult to believe!

They are either side of the tunnel now.

I know, but they wouldn’t be if they were required to move the player tunnel into the opposite corner for health and safety reasons.
