I'm still hoping for Tella, but no interest in Ings. Given the amounts thrown about by Sunderland, we surely have room for one marquee signing?
Don't want ings

Keep dreaming about Tella, ain't going to happen, however much certain people would like it to

Longstaff would be great as an option if he was included in the negotiations for Trafford
I keep seeing people suggest these kinds of deals, but how often do you see football transfers where players move in opposite directions as part of the same deal.

Always better off with the money. Spend it on what the manager really wants.

Instead of it being a swap as such, it would be a PSR deal. Newcastle give us 35m for Trafford then we sign Longstaff for 15m. Newcastle, Villa, Everton ans Forest did deals last summer just to get around PSR

Vardy said his body couldn't take the PL any longer so unless somebody offers him stupid money he'll be in the Championship or an "exotic" location.

NUFC get England's best young keeper, Traff gets to play CL and we get to spend more cash on players!

Newcastle have already bent us over twice with Wood and Pope, either pay our valuation or fck right off.
We got a ridiculous amount for Wood. I think it was around £27 million. Okay he came good at Nottingham Forest but Newcastle sold him at a tremendous loss.

It wasn’t the fee we recieved for Wood that was the problem it was more the fact of how much it weakened us as a relegation rival.

I think we were down anyway to be honest. He wasn't a force for us at that time . No denying he has been brilliant for Forest.

The goals had definitely dried up the season we sold him. Wood had scored 3 goals that season when he left the club, he then went on to score 2 for Newcastle the same season and another 2 in the first half of the following season.

No doubt he has been brilliant for Forest but for us that season and Newcastle in his whole time there not so much.

I think more pertinently is when the release clause came into effect was the debate back then. Hook line & sinker was the general theme as I recall with the naive disciples.

The loosing a striker of Chris Woods ability was bad enough but the fact that no-one admits that they recruited Wout was worse.

It's something Chris wood remained tight lipped about. It was a release clause which is factually true so it would be it's WHEN that became applicable.

That doesn't mean we're not doing anything. Remember Tuanzebe and Walker - both deals were completed in hours after journalists published the stories.

Not that I would really want us to sign him but Brewster must have something about him as he scored 11 in 22 for Swansea when on loan. I think he had injury problems with Sheff Utd but only scored 8 in 106 games. Not sure how many were starts. Maybe Sheff Utd played him out of position as you don't go from one in two to 8 in 106 for no reason.

Brewster has got to be up there with one of the worst transfers in premier league history - especially if you take into account the relative wealth of the club who bought him.

He cost £23.5m in 2020 and has spent a big chunk of this injured and when he was fit he failed to score a single goal in his couple of seasons in the premier league and didn’t even reach double figures (in total not per season !) in the other 3 seasons in the championship despite Sheff United were competing at the top of the league and winning most of their games.

Apparently on £1.8m a year from the outset with signing on fees etc he will have cost Sheff United more than £35m since he signed….and now he walks away on a free.

Hope we go nowhere near this transfer.
