Be some messy states at Heaton park this weekend i think! Getting carried away on the drink/drugs all afternoon in 30 degrees weather is a recipe for disaster lol.

Live music is for all generations, regardless of when bands first made their breakthrough. Go to any festival or gig, rock, punk alt-rock, grunge right through to Indie, and you'll see loads of young people watching bands that were around long before they were born, and thing is, they know their stuff too, and not just the hits. I think it's great.

Oasis aren't my thing, though I did like their first album. That said, I hope everyone has a great time!

Hope it's a wee bit cooler when I see them on the 26th. I'd have really struggled in this today if I was there I reckon, not much to block the sun at Heaton Park. I was at Wembley for Linkin Park on the 28th June last month on a very similar day weather wise and it was stifling heat, but at least that was under cover with a decently air-conned concourse. Hope people are sensible with hydration and sun screen!

I like ‘em really, (at least for two albums I did) but even the most die hard fans must be thinking the “second coming” wouldn’t generate this level of media love in.

Interesting that at Cardiff they played 24 songs and 20 of them were from the first two albums or B sides from those years.

They're basically playing the Knebworth gig thirty years later and grossing £400 million. Cant be bad.

Was wondering what time to get into Heaton park. We are getting to Preswich at 1ish and having a few drinks. Just don’t want to be sat in a field for hours waiting for the support act to come on

Now then, first of all, I'm a fan of oasis, saw them at Maine Rd back in the 90s, and obviously music is quite rightly a personal choice and I don't know if your comment was tongue in cheek or not, BUT don't be silly. They would say themselves, the Beatles and the Stones are/were just about untouchable.

I went with my wife ant two 19 yr olds last night, and it was incredible.
We got near Heaton PK at 2ish, and had a few pints and something to eat in the Ostrich pub. We then headed into the venue at half 4 and I was surprised that it was only £6.50 a pint, and there was also a massive selection of food on offer. There were hardly any queues and loads of staff serving.
There are two front sections, a front-front for 9,000, the a section behind that they called the front, then behind that is general admission. We were front- front which I would recommend if you are prepared to get in early enough.
Cast and Richard Ashcroft were excellent, Oasis were better than ever, as was the atmosphere.
My only gripe was that the exits from the park seemed too narrow and got really congested.
I hope this helps anyone who's going tonight or next week, I'm sure you'll love it, I can't wait for Edinburgh now, as we've tickets for Murrayfield as well.

We got the tram to Heaton park about 3. Took some ale with us and sat in the park for an hour before going into the gig. Theres loads of room inside, plenty of bars and easy to get served, a decent set up. Set times were 6,7,8, I think they were all on a bit early though, which is unusual.

Only issue was that it was a bit of a nightmare to get out. Took ages and really congested. Give yourself plenty of time afterwards to get away.

We got the train to Victoria and then straight on the tram from there to Heaton park.

I'd say leave 5 minutes early, but then you'd be risking being told you're not a proper fan

For anyone getting picked up/taxi after the gig. The whole of Middleton road is closed. We were supposed to be collected from Sainsbury's at J19 but the taxi couldn't get there. Might be better being collected from Prestwich.
