Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
That is tough to choose.
Part of me wants to vote for Hull after going each one and thinking we won't win away that 1st season in the Premier League.
The Man Utd one was a brilliant night but gone for Chelsea that feeling at half time was something else and made you realise how good Defour was.

Chelsea by a country mile. The sending offs helped but our first half showing is what dreams are made of.
Arsenal, an OG.
Liverpool, a pen.
ManU, they were just awful, we only needed to turn up.

Yep, Sam's double at Chelsea every time. Wardys goal wasn't a bad one either. Great result.
Didn't Gary Cahill get a red in that game? As said above, it helped, if that was the game,
but hey ho.

Loved the Chelsea one but a very tough choice over ending that Liverpool run - it was always good to see Klopp so upset

United is my favourite, I grew up surrounded by united fans so I just always wanted to see us win at old Trafford.
The best were the Chelsea and Liverpool wins.

West ham 3 0 is right up there. Barnes and Wood partnership at its absolute peak

Some great memories looking at that list. Really brings home how good the Dyche era was.
The exception being the 1-0 at Bournemouth. Absolutely awful game. I barely celebrated the late winner, as the match had practically sucked the life out of me.

Not least the West Ham supporter running on the pitch with the corner flag

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
I think people forget just how much of a monkey on our back that lack of an away win was. It felt so massive to get rid of it that day at Hull.
Ruining Liverpool's unbeaten run, and with a Barnes penalty no less, is a very good shout, however.

Hull 4-1 was excellent. Our first away win right at the end of the season. And had a fantastic day up there.
West Ham 3-0 one of my favorites. We were simply unstoppable that day.
Chelsea 3-2 in the same season was an obvious one. And they were Champions. And it set us up for the most incredible season of them all. Was there with some good friends that day. Fantastic weekend in The Smoke.
But i think I have to go for Utd 2-0. Growing up watching them dominate, for us to do it in the style we did with a Burnley lad scoring the goal he did. And again there with family and friends!

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
Easy decision for me, 0-1 at Liverpool with a late Bashley penalty clinching the points
There's been numerous Dyche masterclasses over his reign, by this one took the biscuit

On the contrary, I have been to a good portion of them. Although definitely more defeats

Easy as Chelsea just had to be the one even without looking at the other games .
Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
Man United for me. I know they were/are a shadow of their former selves, but it’s still a win at Man United.

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
Chelsea was very much in my reckoning, as was Hull being the first, but I'd waited so long to see us win at Manchester United that was the one I had to vote for.

I've seen us draw at Old Trafford, Anfield, and St James Park from memory, so it's not all bad. But far from a good record by the looks of it

I’ve gone for Palace in 2016/17.
It may not have been the best performance, but it was the day after I retired, so I was in a good mood, and I still remember the sense of relief that we were staying up when Andre Gray scored the second near the end.

Has to be the 3-2 win at Chelsea for me. Unbelievable day out. First game of the season, no expectation whatsoever and 3-0 up. Held on and remarkably didn’t concede an equaliser. Set us up for a fantastic season.

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
Easy for me. 2 0 at Man U. My first vist we were 2 0 with Lochead brace only for ref to add time on to allow two late Francis Burns goals. We have also been 2 0 on other occasions to draw 2 2, and the 3 3 the Wednesday after Hillsborough semi final defeat in their relegation season. We even lost in the League Cup after leading when they were Div 2. I was beginning to think we would never win there in my lifetime other than the Youth Cup once.

Can't say i'm into tattoos, but if I was, i'd certainly have 'Wednesday 22nd January 2020' somewhere prominent. We'd been knocking at the door for a couple of seasons and finally we did it. To see us beat MU at OT was a lifelong dream that became a reality on that cold winters night.

My first visit was in 1965. I’d seen us in front so many times there only to concede late goals but finally it happened after 55 years of waiting. Can’t be beaten for me.ashtonlongsider wrote: ↑Mon Jul 14, 2025 7:48 pmCan't say i'm into tattoos, but if I was, i'd certainly have 'Wednesday 22nd January 2020' somewhere prominent. Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
Can't pick between Hull, Chelsea, United or Liverpool.
All good for different reasons:
- Hull being our first PL away win and was a bright spark in what was a disappointing season
- Chelsea kickstarted our season for that fantastic 7th place finish
- United because I never thought we'd win at OT in the league in a million years and Jay Rod's thunderbolt!
- Liverpool, just iconic... During Covid, Barnes' legendary celebration, ending Liverpool's home run and Klopp spitting feathers
Think it has to be United!

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
Probably the West ham 3 0 game. Great goals mixed with a bit of cabaret. Unhappy hammers fans invading the pitch, with one planting a corner flag in the centre circle, highly entertaining.
Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
I have gone for West Ham. The players managed to ignore all the goings on and put in a real performance.

Liverpool away 1.0 for me as they had been unbeaten at home for a long time so that was sweet...

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
I voted for the Wolves 0-4 win because it contained a very rare event of a 1st half hat-trick. Chris Wood take a bow.
Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
I really enjoyed the 3-1 win at Bournemouth- Wood, Westwood and Barnes.
I didn’t make the Chelsea or United games.

Re: ARTICLE: Choose your favourite away win in the Premier League
A tough choice between the top two selections.
Opted for Chelsea because they were a real forced then: reigning champions and a well drilled outfit. The red cards obviously helped but the truth is we goaded them into it and were frustrating them by playing so well.
Then we had the inspiration and confidence to take them on and win.
The Man Utd game slightly different because they were a shadow of the sides they had under Fergie. That was a close second. We could have given them another 90 minutes and they'd have never scored, let alone equalised.

I'd like to vote for the win at Manchester City in September 2025, with Walker scoring a stunning winner near the end. Keep the poll open ...
In the meantime, I've gone for Chelsea, though I was tempted with Hull 4-1 because it was fun and I was there.

I was thinking surely one of our wins at BollEwood would take it. Then I remembered they haven't seen Premier League football for 15 years
