I think the question was more whether it was a foul as it was very soft. You could tell they were going to award it though as reviewing for a penalty and then overturning the FK in a dangerous position wouldn’t have gone down well. All elementary probably as 2-0 now.
I get what you mean Rileybobs. Not sure if I’m correct but as the referee had given the foul, var couldn’t overturn it. All var could decide was whether it was on the line or outside. I stand to be corrected of course.

I don’t actually know, but I would have thought that Wales would have got the ball back and the free kick overturned. When a player is booked and VAR check for a red and see it wasn’t a foul the referee is instructed to overturn the yellow isn’t he? So I guess this would be similar. May be wrong though.

Good point. I don’t think I’ll ever understand the rules surrounding var. I’m not a fan if I’m honest for numerous reasons. It’s now 5-0.

Sweden comfortably the better side so far. Better organised, physically stronger and seem to be executing their game plan perfectly.

Carter at left back is so slow. We’re relying on the long ball far too much. The worst I’ve seen us for sometime. Changes at half time I think.

Another appalling half of football from England. No intensity, no quality, no application, little graft or craft, bullied again

If Carter is the answer I genuinely don't know what the question is because she's soooo sloooowwww in every single facet of her game and has little or no balance

Apart from all that well done England!

Not a lot. To be fair to her she hasn't had a single decent cross to attack or through ball to run on to. Sweden have completely stopped England from playing

All the money that’s been chucked at this lot, with the infrastructure at St George’s Park, etc. and this is it? Pathetic. Heads need to roll. Embarrassing.

There's been a lack of quality but you can't fault the spirit here. A bit of old fashioned get bodies in the box and swing the ball in there.

I cannot understand why Hampson was preferred to Earps, on goal. Earls was actually a really good (for women) keeper and Hampson is not. There for her footwork and yet 3 times, so far, her first touch has caused issues and not once has any footwork been of value.

I also think Earps would have come iurlt quicker and further to block the shot for Sweden 2nd goal.

Managers and this fixation with fannying about!!!

The rest, for international football, is poor to say the least.

Is she any better or worse than Earps?
The thing with Earps was that she appeared to have too much belief in her own bullshit.

Almost as hilarious as the officials collective performance to this point. The allowing if several foul throws in the first 5 minutes told you all you need to know

The highlight of the evening for me is Ellen White. Beautiful satin blouse, and some useful comments plus brought others into the points, as though she was the presenter. I like women talking about their football.
