Be surprised if we were in for another left back. Would say along with the wingers, it's probably the last position we need to strengthenGuller Bull wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 7:14 pmJust relax and Chilwell

Can’t see us being in for Chilwell to be honest. I don’t rate him either.

I'm waiting for Tony's articles on Trafford and Cajuste. Then I'll believe they're happening.

Re: Summer transfer window
If Brownhill played last season for another championship club, and scored 16 goals from midfield, we would screaming out loud to sign him.Conroy92 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 5:12 pmSo footballers can look at there options but the supporters can't. A football player dosnt have to be commited to the club outside of his contract but a supporter should be loyal to someone who no longer has a contract to the club? Sounds a little one sided to me..
The reality is we want better than Brownhill. Should we resign him he'll take up a spot that sees one of Laurent, Cullen or Hannibal drop out as we will still likely try to displace him from the team. We need two new CMs. There is no room for Brownhill. He took the chance assessing his options and we have ours. For me. He no longer fits.
It's not sour grapes. It's trying to move on with business.
We really do have some sad, pathetic 'FANS'.
You judge people without walking in their shoes and you will always be disappointed, just give the lad a break, whether he signs or not he deserves better than being roasted by people who don't have a clue.

Re: Summer transfer window
His future being uncertain was his own choice. He had a contract on the table offering many thousands more than he's worth and he didn't sign it.
He is fantastic in the championship but can't make the step up, this isn't an attitude towards him it's just fact.
If he had of stayed we would have needed an improvement(now looks likely done) anyway

Re Chilwell.
Some players make those around them look better, and others look better for those around them. I'd put Chilwell in the latter. Besides we don't need another fullback, we've probably got too many already.

I'd be over the moon if Brownhill signs again.
Re: Summer transfer window
You've got absolutely no idea how many thousands were on the table for him, so stop pretending your theories are facts.bumba wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 7:37 pmHis future being uncertain was his own choice. As for what he might or might not be worth, you're way out of your depth there.

Well known fact he was offering improved terms, he was already paid enough..
Out of my depth knowing what he's worth? Are you under 10 and only just started going to games or have you actually watched Brownhill in the premier league? If he signed or not we needed an upgrade.

Without getting overly excited, there cannnot be many (if any) Naples —> Blackpool privately chartered flights happening (!!!!) so you simply have to assume that we have that lad. Potentially a great signing for us based on what I’ve seen in the obligatory reel and Ipswich fan comments.

Jens Cajuste would be a nightmare signing for us.
Burnley fans struggled with Chris Wood's name.

Re: Summer transfer window
I don’t want Brownhill back despite how good he was last season, he’s not good enough for the PL and we need to strengthen in his area, the squads big enough with players not cut out for the level.

Me neither, but when I asked this question when we were first linked, I was told that he was second in the Ipswich fans' player of the year awards only behind Liam Delap. An athletic defensive midfielder by all accounts, which sounds ideal.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 8:03 pmWhat's this Cajuste kid like ? I don't know the first thing about him

Calling someone an utter moron doesn't really stack up with what you said in May:Conroy92 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 25, 2025 8:14 pmI don't think you get it. We've seen him play in the premier league. I want the best for Burnley. If that in your opinion is going into another premier league season with Brownhil a starting midfielder then I think you are an utter moron.
There is nothing sad and pathetic about accepting that a player has left and no longer plays for us. I think it's sad and pathetic to fawn over someone who through there own choice is no longer here.

If you don't think there is a big difference between being a starting midfielder and a squad player I would be amazed.
Can I ask why you think its ok I get called a sad and pathetic fan for my opinion but can't call someone an utter moron for there's.
Thanks.
Re: Summer transfer window
I can see the difference between those two things, yes. But not to the extent I feel it's necessary to describe someone an utter moron. I think the club wanted him to stay and believe Parker would've started him in numerous games in the upcoming season.

Florian Plettenberg:

Three Premier League clubs pushing for Stefan #Ortega, while #Fenerbahce are also in concrete talks. A move to Burnley has fallen through for now.
A summer departure for Ortega this summer is becoming increasingly likely. The reason: Ederson is set to stay, and James Trafford is joining. #MCFC
Seems to confirm Ortega was on. Annoying that it’s fallen through and now more competition is in.

Both Sean Dyche and Vincent Kompany thought highly enough of him to put him in the side consistently in our PL seasons not just the Championship ones. I know whose opinions about what value/qualities a player offers I trust more!
