A good idea in principle, but if every fan’s ID was checked on entry, you’d have to arrive at the ground by 12.30 to get in by kick-off.
Some clubs do make you collect them at the away ground with ID.....

Just catching up on the last few pages of this thread.
Managed to sort my ticket for Spurs but gutted for all those who have missed out and the shocking way the club has treated our fans on what was supposed to be one of the best days of the season - opening fixture and back in the Premier League.
Also find it pretty strange reading the last few pages that almost every second post seems to be someone who seemingly wants to defend the club on this at every opportunity and does not want to accept that individuals who want to go on this game are being disappointed by firstly the pathetic decision by the club to take such a low allocation and secondly the ongoing shambles of a process around anything to do with trying to get a ticket

Would love to know who was "consulted" in the decision to not take the full allocation for the opening away game of the season...
Thankfully i've managed to sort my tickets but the ridiculous decision from the club to not take the full could cost them travelling fans for future games who might think sod it.

I’ve got two tickets secured now but it’s not letting me take them
I’ve got 2000 plus and my lads got 1890 points
Keeps saying ‘Unfortunately, the client you have selected does not have the correct attributes to purchase seats on this event. Please check what is required to purchase seats on this event and try again.’
Any help with what I might be doing wrong in this new ticket master world ?

You'll have to wait until 10am for the new level of points to be reset

I am not going Spurs as away on holiday, but what an absolute shambles this is though.
Lower allocation taken, tickets already available on resale sites at highly inflated prices, a likelihood that a high number of Clarets with less than 2000 points will miss out, away end potentially containing a number of tourists / even Spurs fans who couldn't get a ticket in the home part of the ground. A ticket system not allowing BURNLEY FANS to purchase tickets....
The crooked membership scheme coming back to bite!
I am not a BFC basher, although I must say I am less than happy at my seat move in the CFS to the other side and now this. All excitement for the season ahead is fast diminishing!!
I will be the joining the ISA to atleast feel like someone is listening to these important fan issues!!

They have taken it down now. All that is available are stoke tickets.
They were about 10 available an hour ago. I presume the ticket office are either keeping them for people who queue up or their mates.

Tbf going back to the days of Bob Lord you can’t really say that the club has ever given a s**t about the fans but they are certainly finding ways of taking that disregard to new levels

Surely Bob Lord wanted as many spectators watching us as possible?

I`m not in the top category so for future London games do i risk spending 50-60 quid on train tickets weeks in advance? As a group we probably just won`t bother.

114 it would have been. Spurs selling tickets in there so no chance of us getting it. Too late now.

You do increasingly wonder if there may be a tactic of deliberately creating a level of scarcity that pushes people towards purchasing one of the membership options......
What are the other logical explanations?
There's every chance that they are just not very good at predicting demand. It's nothing new with ALK, I remember loads of complaints from before them (I can't remember the context but I have an email from 2018 from the club justifying why we took a lower allocation for Arsenal).

I emailed the club twice over the past few weeks at
info@burnleyfc.com and got replies from the department the email was passed onto. If people like you are polite then there's no reason not to reply.

That was the 0-5 game, Wenger's final home game in charge. The then Supporters Groups formally complained about that. I think Arsenal pushed us on that one to be honest, but we'd based it on previous trips there. This however, was just as we were qualifying for Europe. We got that one wrong, and I think the club, while not publicly, held their hands up. Following that, they did often consult with BFCSG on away allocations which did improve things. The one thing there was that the BFCSG committee was made up of people who travelled to most away games and had an understanding of how many we might take.

I just managed to bag 2 whisky queuing up outside the ticket office trying my luck - no idea how that happened
Que was about 25 deep at the time - most didn’t look cheery
Hopefully they have the option to buy more allocation

Got 3 together this morning so our train and hotel won't go to waste. It did say "Restrictions apply" but I was that focused on getting the purchase through that I didn't read the info. Can anyone clarify what the restrictions are? I'm hoping it's just rules related to safe standing...

Ah ok, I couldn’t find 114 for sale but could find 119.
What a real shame. Absolutely hate to see clarets missing out and 3k on opening day would’ve given the lads a fantastic boost.
Hold my hands up, I called this completely wrong. Gutted we’re basically taking 50% less fans than we could have.

If anyone has a spare I would be hugely grateful. I managed to get the one extra I needed this morning but my basket timed out before I could verify my purchase through the app. Gave me less than two minutes to do this!!!! Hugely frustrated as I’m on holiday in the USA and have got up at 5am in the hope of success. Going to have a very disappointed son missing out as he has 1970 points. And wasted money on train fares and the other two tickets.

I can't for the life of me understand why the club didn't take their full allocation. Wish someone from within would communicate the thought process. I could have got one for myself but not my wife as she only had 1950 points. Very disappointing and I hope some of these being sold at highly inflated prices on various ticket sites are tracked back to the purchaser and their banned from purchasing any more. Shouldn't be difficult. Very frustrating.

You'd think they'd hopefully take the maximum for games against Liverpool, Man. U., Arsenal etc. regardless.
It's as though they are worried about losing a few quid because they might not sell a few hundred tickets for a game against one of the bigger clubs.

Got 2 this morning in person from the office ( block 115 ) , queue of around 30 people waiting and were advised by staff to also try online .
Perhaps it’s Ticketmaster making these allocation decision’s ?

It's not 5 adults that are travelling.
You said add £50 to £121, so I did and then divided it by five

If you could get an adult train ticket from Burnley to London for 34 quid return then that certainly would be something to shout about!

They very often haven't historically going back over the last decade or so.
Others will have a better idea than me whether or not that's generally been the correct decision.
