Re: Cricket field stand
Why would the tunnel moving from a corner between two sets of Burnley fans, to between a corner with two sets of Burnley fans make any difference to perceived safety? Is it because a manager can walk down the touchline as opposed to across the pitch I guess?

Good idea, they could put a gate near the fan zone giving access to Holcombe drive for fans wanting to leave that way.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 10:06 amI'm very concerned about the whole North and Jimmy Mac stand punters all having to filter out through the gap by the club shop. I don’t think there is any evidence to suggest the points in bold are true currently.Bada Bing wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 10:12 amI BFC hasn't got £88 million. ALK have financed Burnley FC and Espanyol through leveraged debt. BFC future profits are being used as leverage. This is at the expense of building a new stand. ALK deem it more profitable to buy another club, rather than build a new CFS stand.

Yeah it is a long time ago. Perhaps there was access to the adjoining housing estate but there was no way around the back of the Longside. I think the gym access and away fans turnstiles was down the cricket club lane.manuelbenny wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 10:56 amI am not so sure about that? The vast majority would head for Brunshaw Road (Harry Potts Way). I remember the crush as a kid sometimes being lifted off your feet which wasn't a pleasant experience. Surely safety is top of the agenda here at this pinch point...
I think someone else mentioned people might linger at the fanzone for a pint until the crowd has subsided.

I’ve previously said the same, so sympathise with this view, but in retrospect these plans must’ve been in the making well before Sheffield United.
The set up of crossing the pitch has been a rubbish for staff, officials and fans for some time so I would expect a move has been in the plans for a while.

Exactly. Maybe it was planned for the 26/27 season, when those sat in the CFS would have been told for the renewals next time round but the Sheffield game has escalated those plansNewClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 11:06 amI’ve previously said the same, so sympathise with this view, but in retrospect these plans must’ve been in the making well before Sheffield United.

Some time? It’s been 50+ years since the tunnel came out on the Bob Lord stand side of the ground and it hasn’t really caused an issue.NewClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 11:06 amI’ve previously said the same, so sympathise with this view, but in retrospect these plans must’ve been in the making well before Sheffield United.

Re: Cricket field stand
I haven't necessarily got any issues with ALK, as the performances on the pitch have been of a very high standard. It's just bolting a portakabin with a few Christmas tree lights on to the side of the CFS isn't an acceptable short/medium term solution. It doesn't look good when they have just bought another club.

You put aside the freak period under Dyche and relegation from the top flight for a club of our size, kinda comes with the territory.

Not caused issues, no, but it’s suboptimal design for sure. You wouldn’t design it like that today, anyway.
When you think how football has changed, you used to have a manager, maybe an assistant and a sub walking across. Now you have a full team of subs, an entourage of staff and boxes of equipment to lug across sometimes. It’s far from ideal and I think we might be the only ground that does it now for that reason, which is why I suspect we’ve had it on the wish list for a while.

None of these changes make any difference, opposing teams and officials will still be walking into a corner of home fans. The only real change is that the players now have further to walk in the rain when they arrive. Buzzing for that, I’m sure.
Re: Cricket field stand
Its already bad round there. Really don`t see how they could expect the entire Longside to exit that way as well. Or any kind of H and S risk assessment giving it the go ahead.ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 10:06 amI'm very concerned about the whole North and Jimmy Mac stand punters all having to filter out through the gap by the club shop. Re: Cricket field stand
If this is all part of a bigger plan to upgrade the CFS, then I don't mind the new concourse that is being created. If the club were to decide to go full steam ahead with replacing the stand, then it will be quite some time till any work would even start, in the mean time we are offering substandard facilities to fans in that area.Bada Bing wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 11:33 amI haven't necessarily got any issues with ALK, as the performances on the pitch have been of a very high standard. My issue like many others on here is the lack of communication and consultation that has taken place and the fact that many supporters will be worse off/inconvenienced by the implementation of this 'upgrade'.

I really don't understand how this is going to get built in three weeks. I agree with this point. I think this would have been much better announced as part of a bigger vision for Turf Moor redevelopment. Or as a minimum some detail on ALK’s aspirations for redevelopment.Bada Bing wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 11:33 amI haven't necessarily got any issues with ALK, as the performances on the pitch have been of a very high standard. I welcome any investment, but this is another small extension when we all know rebuilds of part of the stadium are required.

Afternoon everyone.
I saw some discourse on the wider forum that seats were available to be sold at 1pm this coming Friday. Is that the case? I can't seem to find the intel. Anyone got a link to the club source?
Many thanks.

The lads who kettled the players after the Millwall game were signed on three year contracts, they have to be found something to do. They are to be issued with brollies and assigned a player each on match days.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 12:05 pmThe only real change is that the players now have further to walk in the rain when they arrive. Re: Cricket field stand
The issue is they have a large group that have to traipse back and forth across a pitch rather than walk down a touchline, or, better still, directly to your dug out as per in every other ground. Often it delays kick off and obviously has safety considerations for pitch inspections, although I think these are overplayed.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 12:05 pmApart from it being a bit muddy occasionally, I don’t see what has been rubbish about it for any of those groups, especially the fans?!

I don’t have any issue with the tunnel move. It makes perfect sense and is the best thing apart from having it in the BL on the centre line.
What I don’t understand or agree with is why it necessitates the fans having to swap.
Nor do I think players walking along the Longside to enter the ground is a good experience at all. No idea why we spent that money improving the far corner just to do this.

Looks like compulsory arrival by coach for our team then, which makes the player car park at the top of Harry Potts Way redundant and thus fresh for building on….

It would be interesting to know if the minutes genuinely reflected the discussion that was had. Hand picked or not, I can't believe 20 odd people would sit there and say nothing - because that's what the minutes indicate. Just had a look at the layout of the cricketfield stand. What if your ticket is mirrored to where the little box bit where the coaching staff and other Burnley officials have sat in the past with the exit down to the players tunnel ?

Yep it definitely will not mirror perfectly and they are leaving it VERY late to inform loyal season tickets holders as to what exactly will be happening. I will give it the benefit of the doubt and hope we don't end up being screwed over by these late changes.blatherwickstattoos wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 12:50 pmJust had a look at the layout of the cricketfield stand. Finally a response from the club after ignoring my emails for weeks. I have been asking the simple question of - can you confirm where my seat will be for the forthcoming season.
Still none the wiser where my seat will be, despite the club taking my money for it.

Re: Cricket field stand
As a Season Ticket holder in the Cricket field stand for a number of years - I too am disappointed at the lack of converse between the club and the fans affected by these changes.
But I also feel that the response on here has been somewhat over the top. Yes we should have been consulted way before now and an update on the 4th Aug isn't good enough. However until we know how the reallocation of seats has been done i'm surprised at the meltdown.
Unlike many of you I have a little faith in the club and I'm hoping that the powers at be take the common sense approach and where possible reallocate the seats as a mirror image. I know that will not be possible in all cases but seems the most logical and fair way of reallocation.
For some this is a big issue that needs to be done correctly, but those that currently sit in the stand also know that not everyone sits in their allocated seats anyway and have always sat where they want to. So in most cases seat re allocation simply does not matter.

Re: Cricket field stand
I am not convinced by the owners at all. Off field has been poor - catering issues, ticketing issues, nonsense with a drum, the goal music return, constant poor communication, blaming fans for poor results on the pitch during the VK season, issues with seats. If I was in the CFS I would be gutted. They have taken over a community asset that is much loved - they do not get it. Maybe they need to start imagining if a bunch of Burnley lads took over one of their churches and opened a bar in the middle to generate revenue or started to mess around with their services. We are a few seasons in now and I am beginning to see the ISA as a potential lifeboat. I think we all need to.

It won’t be built in 3 weeks. Doesn’t the press release suggest the first phase will be in place for the start of the season? In which case I expect a relocated tunnel and home and away fans to be switched. It’s doubtful the new concourse will be built in time to be used at any point this season.

Re: Cricket field stand
So the rumours were true.
Absolutely no consultation on this and doesn't really change much. Players will still come out between 2 sets of home fans.
I specifically picked an end of row seat and I so when the mirror the seating I would hope to get an end of row seat. Who knows how likely this is.
I think it's pretty poor to not have consulted, for fans not happy with their new seat not to have an opportunity to move stands when seat swap day/week was done.
We shall see what happens when we are contacted by 4th August.
But as usual one part of the club doesn't even know what the other is doing. IWhen I emailed the ticket office last week about my sons season ticket i was informed that new season tickets were being posted and we should receive them by first week in August. The FAB minutes say that entry for the first 3 home games will be by digital ticket only and then they will look at feedback to see if physical tickets will be reinstated. So which way is it
And there has been no formal communication of this.
Communication from the club is woeful. If you are moving to digital entry, inform the fans, not hide it in a set of minutes hardly anyone will read.
The FAB is a requirement, but appears to be nothing more than a tick box exercise with very little influence.

Re: Cricket field stand
The whole comms around this is woolly AF, but it looks like there’s the stuff that’s been the worst kept secret in Burnley, and is pretty much complete (bar telling the fans which gate to enter by). And some future developments that are a bit more vague. There’s not even any planning applications registered for the bits that will require it.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 1:42 pmIt won’t be built in 3 weeks. It wont get built in 3 weeks and they haven't said that. Lots of talk about phases. I suspect this will be the last phase.
Phase 1 being- tunnell and move the fans.
It could be that initial pre planning application discussions with the Council have stated that we should move the fans in the CFS before submitting a formal application. However this is just conjecture on my part.
I wouldn't expect anything to be built and operational before the end of the season...

Would provide plenty of storage space if they didquoonbeatz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 1:55 pmI wouldn’t be massively surprised if they shelved the concourse bit upon relegation.

Exactly.RicardoMontalban wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 1:53 pmThe whole comms around this is woolly AF, but it looks like there’s the stuff that’s been the worst kept secret in Burnley, and is pretty much complete (bar telling the fans which gate to enter by). And some future developments that are a bit more vague. There’s not even any planning applications registered for the bits that will require it.

Yeah, and the half baked visuals don’t suggest much thought has gone into it at this stage, so that wouldn’t be a surprise.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 1:55 pmI wouldn’t be massively surprised if they shelved the concourse bit upon relegation.

Re: Cricket field stand
Good Afternoon Paul,
Thank you for your email.
We understand your concern regarding your Dad's seat. However, at this time we do not have the new seat details, these will be sent to the Cricket Field supporters on the 4th August.
Please be assured that we are trying our best to ensure supporters are allocated a similar seat however, as you are probably aware, the stands are not identical so this may not be possible for some seats.
Once your new details have come through, you will have up until the 1st September to request a seat move (Subject to availability)
Thank you for your continued support,
Just had the email. They don’t even know yet . Talk about leaving it late

Re: Cricket field stand
I'm told that it doesn't and in effect it is actually closer to being the agenda, at bestFeedTheArf wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 12:47 pmIt would be interesting to know if the minutes genuinely reflected the discussion that was had. Hand picked or not, I can't believe 20 odd people would sit there and say nothing - because that's what the minutes indicate. I've never known Burnley folk to have nothing to say.

Sounds like the Fan advisory Board have been involved throughout. I guess they support fans having to change seats ?

Re: Cricket field stand
I kind of feel for the FAB … I would never opt to do it in a million years
Seems your damned either way for most decisions based entirely out of there’s of anyone’s control
Hopfully this will be beneficial for eveyone in the long term but do understand it’s not ideal for people in the CF end to find out late …
Hopefully eveyone will still be able to sit together for the most part and have more space with the new facilities
