Humphrey's Injury

Post by warksclaret » Thu Jul 31, 2025 10:05 am

I know Bashir got injured in the second half of the season with an injured quad. At the time Parker said he was hoping to have him back at the tail end of the season. But I notice he has not been involved in any of our friendlies, neither I believe was he at the Portuguese training camp. Does anyone have an update on him-he was such a key member of the squad, and I was looking forward to seeing him develop.

It seems to be taking a long time for a thigh injury. We seem to get a lot of injuries outside of matchdays.

I'm not convinced it's thigh

Looks like Parker will be using him as our second choice goalkeeper then which is a surprise.

Didn't expect to see him until October time at the earliest.

Wow. That's a big problem, especially given the poor injury records of all of our cbs except Steve. Makes another cb signing more likely if accurate. Think I'd get one anyway.

It was based on the recovery time for the suspected injury.

I'm not going to speculate as it seems to have been kept under wraps. But common sense would suggest if he's not taking part in pre season now then he's more than weeks away...

You suggested October, due to the nature of the injury. If you're only speculating, then how can you possibly know?

Humphreys returned to training in the first / second week of pre season. He was pictured on the club site. Not seen him since the Portugal trip, though.

Not really. I'm querying how someone can know how a player won't feature until October, when they don't even know the nature or extent of the injury he's suffered.

There are plenty of other threads you can read if you don't like it!!

What on earth are you talking about?

I said I didn't expect to see him back (playing for us in the PL) until October. You asked why and I said based on the recovery time I thought he would need.

You then asked me to tell everyone what his injury is. I don't believe it was what was reported so I'm not going to say. We will see when he returns?

Genuine question but what's your problem? What a weirdo.
I just don't think making stuff up is helpful, but if it makes you feel in the know, then carry on.

No further comment from me.

I said I didn't expect to see him until October. That was it, I made one comment, I've no desire to appear itk or I would have loaded it over, I didn't even try and offer any explanation.

Let's see when he features for us, I'll assume if its post September you'll be apologising.

There was no attempt to appear itk or make anything up.

I will apologise. If he's back before October, you can do likewise.

All because I wanted to know how someone knew how long a player was going to be out for!

I like your last sentence because you have caused the issues on this thread. I’ve mentioned on this thread that it’s not the injury reported too. But that seems not good enough for you.

If you read the thread you'll see I've responded sensibly up until the point someone made an obvious attempt to try and "show me up" over somthing as minor as me stating my opinion that I thought he'd be back in October.

Maybe calling him weird and a freak is uncalled for- although it's the words I would use to describe the behaviour of someone trying to start an argument for no reason.

But what's the solution? Do we just not post anymore? You can't report being a d*** to the mods can you?

I'm sure Parker said that he'd had a little set back and not the original injury.

That was what was said. But if he's been back training as shown in the photo but not seen since it's either a recurrence of the same injury or something else. Whatever it is, it's bad news, above all for Bashir but also for SP because, rightly or wrongly, I thought he'd be playing alongside Maxime Estève.

Let's hope it's nothing too serious and the lad returns asap.

Anyone who can read can see you initiated any of this by posting that I was "making things up to appear ITK".

You're still trying to continue an argument over absolutley nothing. I apologise to everyone on this thread, I should have just kept quiet and let your character speak for itself.

I not going to be sucked into this, but 2 observations, firstly, you have no idea what is in a thread until you open it and read it, so you childish comment of "there are plenty of other threads you can read if you don't like it" doesn't wash. And secondly, your reply kinda proved my earlier point. 🙄
