He showed he can offer something already. Goal every 200 minutes. He played as a striker today which isn’t his role.

Both Foster and Koleosho should be important players too. I’d have all 3 of them starting at Spurs.
I'm not really much of a fan of Koleosho. I get that he's quick and direct so could be useful playing on the break but he shows a lack of ability, composure and is a complete liability when it comes to defending. And we'll be doing a lot of defending this season...

It was a friendly, it was poor, but lets move on. Some good information in the 90 minutes for SP. Our three front men needed to show more for the ball. We will need them to take pressure off us in the PL games. Lots for the coaches to work on-at least we looked solid in defence and but for poor decision making by Weiss would have come away 0-0

As a side note Sunderland lost there 4th pre season game in a row.

Speaking to a few mates up here, there performance was equally shocking.

I think the three coming up this year are going to have a really hard time of it.

Yep.

First and foremost, we’ll all be aiming to just surpass Derby’s points total (which I think we’ll manage with relative ease).

I'd rather have him in the squad than the likes of Barnes

We have a full squad of players that aren’t good enough for the Premier League, unfortunately.

Bruun Larsen is one of the players that on his day can be good enough.

Well, there are some right embarrassing wet knickers types on here. If they are like this over a pre-season friendly, think what their multiple screeds of outrage will look like when the new season finally kicks off. This place won't be worth bothering with, unless you're a masochist.

If I’m honest it’s not about the result, it’s about the performance.

We could have lost because of a sloppy goal but showed some real attacking prowess and I don’t think anyone would have batted an eyelid.

But that was a real shocker today, very little quality on display

Just got back - to be blunt, garbage. At least it was lovely weather and a word for Kyle Walker who I’m still having to pinch myself to believe he’s playing for us. He looked outstanding. We move on - we all know what the gaps are and we learned nothing surprising today.

I would imagine that if it had been a league game against Stoke it would have been a different result as we were many levels above them last season.

Ok…. Obviously I don’t agree.

His decision making and inability to pick a player out or play a weighted pass suggest he’s not got the required ability. Displayed numerous times at a lower level last year.

Interesting that you must think he has something to offer defensively too. He basically looks like he’s trying really hard but 9/10 ends up fouling opposition players as he has no idea how to make it difficult for them.

He’s a poor footballer and hasn’t shown much sign of improvement since he arrived. I understand he’s had a serious injury in that time. So maybe it’s a good idea for him to go out on loan and play some football.

I’ve seen enough of him over the last 2 years to know we have far better footballers in his position within our squad.

His ability is in his dribbling, pace and 1v1 ability. Saying he doesn't have the ability because his passing isn't the highest level is nonsense.

Passing isn't a strength of his, but it's not of many wingers. His pass completion last season was higher than Anthony's, for example. Edwards' passes were intercepted more frequently than Koleosho's were.

He adapted his game last season massively to try to fit to what Parker wanted from him from how he played under Kompany. He works hard defensively and in defending aggressively he commits fouls but the suggestion he fouls 9/10 is just nonsense as is the suggestion he is a liability.

He's not a poor footballer, obviously. He had already shown in the PL he is a good player. Played on his weaker flank last season, coming back from injury and with limited chance to build consistency he didn't have a good season but then went to the U21 Euros and played brilliantly.

Whether he is a fit for Parker can be questioned. But how anyone could have watched him play in the PL for us and Italy at the U21 Euros and say he's a "poor footballer" is beyond me.

You can use stats to spin most opinions - I prefer to watch football with my own eyes and make my own opinions. Anthony played virtually every minute of every game last season so, of course, his pass completion will be worse when talking numbers - just like his goal contributions will be much higher.

I can’t understand how anyone could have watched LK and thought ‘this lad can defend’. He’s hardly a defensive winger like Arfield and Boyd were in the PL and, as I’ve already mentioned, he’s a liability when trying to help out defensively. His effort is there but he has no idea how to defend.

His dribbling certainly didn’t look like his main skill set when he was constantly running down blind alleys or just running into opposition players most of last season.

Clearly, we’re not going to agree on this, and that’s fine. But it’s funny how people see the game differently. It wouldn’t bother me one bit if he left this summer.

We had nothing to change it up on the bench due to the Sheff Wednesday cancellation. Clearly we’ve decided to give those who are potentially needing fitness the chance to possibly play in shorter games or have more stoppages etc. so went with a bench full of kid

Feel free to quote loads of stats that prove Koleosho is a good player any time you want.

Didn't get chance to follow us much yesterday. Scanning the match threads it looks like it got a bit heated in parts. Has anyone seen any highlights posted from the Stoke match, I can't seem to find any.

Also, do we know who the match was against behind closed doors?

Thanks

It was a closed doors game-the two teams made up of our players not involved at Stoke hence a bench at Stoke of inexperienced U-21's
