Son Heung-min

Post by ecc » Sun Aug 03, 2025 5:51 pm

As most people will now be aware, Son is leaving Spurs and English football.

I am glad for one very selfish reason and I don't need to explain why. :)

But I would prefer to avoid parochialism and focus on this lad's contribution to the PL. I consider him to have been one of the best players in the last 25 years. A huge star in his own country but I feel he's not always received the credit he's deserved in England.

Comes over very well in interviews and seems to love playing football which isn't always the impression you get with some players.

333 PL games, 127 goals and 77 assists. That's pretty good going.

Fabulous player. I first became aware of him when he was in Germany, before Poch signed him for Spurs. Had a very very good Premier League career. Good luck to him.

Poch tried to sign him for Southampton but he chose Germany.

One of our lads should have taken a yellow to stop 'that' goal he scored against us. Cannot allow players to run through the middle like that. Good player though, and always conducted himself very well

One of the best imported PL players ever. Fabulous.

One of my favourite modern-day footballers. A superb footballer and a genuinely nice guy.

First saw him live in Germany playing for Leverkusen against Bayern. He played off Steffan Kießling and absolutely tore them a new one, and despite being on the losing side, (most teams were back then, when even Kroos had to settle for a place on the bench!) He was best player on the pitch!

It seemed like he scored more than 127 goals just against us

This SHOULD be one of those rarest of rare things on here….when every single opinion is pretty much the same and we are ALL in agreement.

Don't worry, one of the contrarians will be along in a minute to tell us he had a bad attitude or wasn't good enough in the air or something.

A great player but the writing was on the wall at Spuds when his mate Harry left
It's good him and Dodgy Maddison won't be playing against us .

Brilliant player. The reported 20m is a heck of a high fee for a 33 year old though!

Contrary to what everyone else thinks, I reckon the guy is one of the most overrated players to ever "grace" the Premier League. We let him run through us, presumably down to some stupid tactics or about not committing to challenges.

I also saw a video of him kicking puppies so that puts to bed the idea of him being a so-called nice guy.

Nah, not really. Great player. Enjoyed watching him when he wasn't playing us and glad we won't be facing him again this year. (Also I made up the stuff about the puppies)
