Is everyone looking forward to the season?
I'd do something else with my time and money if I wasn't looking forward to the season getting underway. Also looking forward to meeting up with family, friends, and acquaintances when we go for pre-match food and/or drinks.
Even if we were in the depths of the National League, I would still be looking forward to the season getting underway, just like millions of other fans who support their clubs in the professional, semi-pro or amateur league systems.

Yes, looking forward to it now after the summer lull. Looking forward to seeing how our team develops/performs/ progresses and also to watching footy generally / playing the fantasy games etc.
Hoping (as an exiled "down south" non-ST holder) I'll be able to get a few tickets for our southern away games (not a great start re WHL but fingers crossed).

If you're not looking forward to the new season, perhaps being a football fan isn't for you.

In a nutshell, no. With the current squad, I'd say it's gonna be a pretty miserable season. I just don't see the attacking quality to give us enough goals.

Ditto, but equally worried about the midfield.
Our prep going into both this season and the last has been awful - feel for Scott Parker.

Another one here. Looking forward to it but with apprehension. Our lack of quality in midfield and no striker was evident against Stoke.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 1:51 amDitto, but equally worried about the midfield.

I would say we need a couple of striker options and at least one midfield to be competitive. Our goal threat was almost non existent and we can't afford to rely on our defence.

Obviously with Broja coming in and Foster/Flemming playing in the other game (or injured in the latter’s case), we wouldn’t be starting Larsen and Hannibal as the front 2. I think our options there are okay.Firthy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 04, 2025 8:32 amAnother one here. Looking forward to it but with apprehension. Midfield is the main issue. Ours is the worst in the league, by quite some distance, as it stands.

I don't generally love the PL nor think it's the be all and end all, and I envisage quite a few pumpings on the horizon but how can you not be excited?
The thing I'm most pleased about, and it's a sad indictment of the modern game, is that we've bought well in the sense that Hartmann, Broja, JBL, Walker, Tchaouna, Weiss, assuming they're not sold off for a good profit in the event of relegation, have been added to what is already an extremely strong Championship side and will almost certainly prepare us to be extremely competitive in the league below.

I think with the addition of Walker and Hartmann I am a lot more optimistic. The toughest thing to do in the premier league is to score goals and am not convinced we have that dept sorted yet. Looking forward to a lot of spirited 0-0's though
I agree with other posters we are in a lot better position with Parker at the helm than we were a couple of years ago.

Yeah, very much so. It’s gonna be a hard slog, but I can’t wait to see how Scott gets them up for it, sets them up and makes the changes needed for us ti be as competitive as we can.
Will it be difficult? Damn right it will, but let’s get amongst em.

I'm too old for it now, but sneaking a peak at the panini sticker albums and seeing the Burnley pages never gets old for me. That was always for the other clubs growing up.
