I'm surprised that the club haven't announced it as a club record buy, I know totals are undisclosed but if the initial fee is over 20m, then it's a record.

Romano claiming we’ve paid 45 million for the two players. 20 for Broja, 25 for Ugochukwu. He seems to make figures up a lot of the time though.

Chelsea fan I spoke to said YaYa Touré. Tall, strong, box to box, technically gifted.
I was going to say if anyone it’s a Yaya Toure type player

Big, strong atheltic midfielder that can break the lines and run with the ball.

Some of his best qualities last season came when he got the ball on the turn ran at the opposition and sprayed the ball out wide to the winger.

More than happy with this signing. Big, quick, physical and mobile. It's the player profile we have missed in the Premier League. Just waiting for the speed singers to try and come up with a song for his name.

Very pleased with this signing. Exactly what we needed in the middle, profile wise. Well done to the club. He is young but he’s had a full season in the Prem developing, and got better as the year went on. Excited to see him play, I am no longer wincing at our midfield against other PL ones.

I'm praying for his own sake that he says he has always wanted to play for Burnley and wants to stay for the rest of his career no matter what division we are in :D

Quality signing

These signings are being announced later and later
Are we aiming them at foreign audiences now?

Might get more views when the Americans have woken up?

The time on the West Coast would have been 2.30pm so we can safely say no.

I doubt that very much. More likely with two more incomings expected this week they are spacing the announcements out.

Maybe there is 1 or 2 more to do this week and just spacing them out

Just as importantly, is this the biggest height differential in a midfield two at Burnley? Cullen at 5’9 and Big Les at 6’3.
Think youre being kind to Cullen there...

On paper, some really good energy in the middle with Les, Hannibal and Cullen. I'd definitely like to see another head come in though, maybe that's greedy but I think it's such an important position and we need to prepare for any eventualities like injury and suspension. Eriksen would be ideal but if he's not truly on the radar, perhaps a really high quality loan would be good here.

Can we just have the shout of LESSSSSSSSSSSSSSZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ when he makes a challenge, like Steeeeeve?

Since they are both French, they might appreciate it, Steeeve certainly seems to.

Given we had Billy Ingham and then Brian Flynn in our midfield at times, I doubt it.

Its possibly one of the biggest missing pieces of our jig saw that was missing. When players like Rice, Rodri, Caicedo are not available for their respective teams the impact is huge. WE may have a real player here who in 12 months may have doubled in value in view of his age. Well done to our club in getting it done

A few comments from the BBC comments section:

"Good business by the Clarets. They are getting a very very good talented player.
Surprised a lot of people really....Little town Burnley certainly making waves in the transfer market with some very good astute signings and showing great ambition. I. Wish them well"

"Me too, from an Arsenal fan. Their purchase of Kyle Walker was also a surprise and hopefully an effective purchase"

"Good luck to both the player and the Burnley .... At least Burnley will be more settled at the start of this season, compared to last."

A key position has been filled, hoping 'Les' is a good effective player for us and worth the big money we've paid. The crowd will certainly take to him if this is the case. The best of luck to him and the club for paying this amount.

Sounds like a Paul Pogba type player: tall, athletic, good on the ball, can spray a pass and chip in with some goals, hopefully. We shall see!

In the paraphrased words of Alvin Stardust:
You really are our Ugochukwu

Has to be a ready made song for us here!

Ugochu I just want you
Really love the things that you do
Come on and love-a-me too
Oh won't you be my Ugochukwu

Sweetness I like how ya dress
I love the way you know you're the best
I'm in love and I'm in a mess
I really want you Ugochukwu

Come on lets do it again
I really want my Ugochukwu

Re verse 2, line 1, might I suggest:

Les-ley I like how ya press?

Or even the Burn-er-ley version of Lesley: Les-er-ley?

This is the best on the BBC comments if you ignore the last bit

'I watched him last season at Southampton. Russell Martin didn't rate him, so that's a plus point, because it means he could pass forwards instead of sideways. When he was given a chance he was good, mobile and a good tackler. Good luck Ugo, but it's another relegation for your CV.'

No. Les Shannon played 10 and 6 in the 1950’s. He was a great player.

No limits song would be perfect, also provides a breakdown of his name so first part Ugo initially then all of it together, on repeat. Easy for everyone!
