This season rule changes
Anyone got a summary of the rule changes for this season - think I read about a couple but just wondered if anyone has a final list?
Thanks

Interesting to see L8. 2.
This occurred in our neighbours game this afternoon. Two baggies went up and clashed heads, Rovers had the ball but the incident had happened in the box. Ref dropped it for the keeper. Caused some confusion.

Goalkeeper keeps the ball in hands for more than 8 seconds results in a corner?
Id love to see this happen but im sceptical any ref will do it tbh

It’ll happen, but it’ll be against a team like ourselves. And it’ll happen early in the season to try and prove a point.Winstonswhite wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:06 pmGoalkeeper keeps the ball in hands for more than 8 seconds results in a corner?

Nobody expects the rule to be used against Liverpool or Manyoo.
And much like those eye-spy books, you win 5000 points if you see the law being implemented past September.
Hope this is all proved wrong.

Will be full of controversy and accusations of inconsistency with refs favouring the bigger clubsWinstonswhite wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:06 pmGoalkeeper keeps the ball in hands for more than 8 seconds results in a corner?

Not if they ACCURATELY count down the last 5 seconds with fingers coming down. Just as in boxing it will be slow counts that will annoy people.basil6345789 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 11:23 pmWill be full of controversy and accusations of inconsistency with refs favouring the bigger clubs

You just know that this is EXACTLY what will happen. Probably in the last minute after we’ve dominated the game or somesuchRowls wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 9:50 pmIt’ll happen, but it’ll be against a team like ourselves. And it’ll happen early in the season to try and prove a point.

Saw it in the Club World Cup only a few days after it came in.
Came as a shock to the keeper let me tell you.
Suddenly had to defend a corner.
Defense were mad af.

Re: This season rule changes
So does this mean there will no longer be any dropped balls when opposing players compete for the ball? One of the best bits of the game taken away.
There should not be any 'lengthy checks' when it comes to VAR. If it's not clear and obvious it needs to be binned.

All this "Has the option of..." Is ********, make it compulsory.
If there's an option given for them to do it, then it most likely won't happen

Asking a lot of referees to count to 8 when none of them can count to 6.
