Odobert is an interesting shout. Reckon he will get the game time ahead of Kudus and potentially Savinho?

Marmoush is 26 and scored 22 in 33 last season in the league. He was City's best player after Christmas.

I'd say he's already well and truly broken out isn't he?

Burnley Predictions:

Breakout season: Hartman

Premier league in general:

Breakout season: Wharton (makes the World Cup squad as a starter)

As an aside to these, I’ve been seeing a lot of predictions with us 20th… pundits, writers, Twitter football accounts etc. A good few are fancying Sunderland or Leeds to stay up.

I would say he’s still in the bracket of a breakout. Only been at city for 4 months of a season.

I get that, but like Ekitike, if you've been signed for 60/70m, then you're generally pretty proven somewhere.

I've always thought (rightly or wrongly) that breakout was more of an unexpected star like Cole Palmer the other year

The only accurate part of that is that he’s 26 !

Fair point, I do get why you view it that way.

I would class breakout as someone breaking out from there current status into a new one.

So Marmoush for example could be breaking out from being a good player that’s relatively unknown to being a world class talent

I'd have thought Odobert would be playing off the left, with Kudus off the right - just checked a few of their pre-season line ups and that looks to be the case.

Yeah fair point, that makes sense too, and in that respect Ekitike and Marmoush definitely fit in the category

Apologies thought you meant in the Premier League !
Thought he was ok last year but scored 3 in one game and then like a lot of City players struggled in lots of games. Had in my FPL team for a while so kept a close eye on his stats and he missed a lot of big chances. Didn’t he have something like 7 shots on target in one game and didn’t score ?

Yeah I think he bagged 3 against Fulham? He's a bit of a free kick specialist too. Scored a load for Eintracht, and I seem to recall him getting a belter for City last season.

I really hope he and Ekitike do make it this season coming (but not against us obviously!)

That’s exactly what I understood breakout to mean, but if we’re meaning someone more fresh, the wonder kid at Liverpool, Rio Ngumoha looks set to make a few headlines.

Breakout season just means they do unexpectedly way better than they’ve done before. Most of those PL picks above have already had breakout seasons, that’s why PL teams have signed them.
