So you'd still be confident even if we lost next week?
I wouldn't.

West Ham are in trouble this season I think
I think they'd just get rid of Potter and employ some European manager who knows how to stay up.

Good performance but we just cannot compete with the quality that some of these PL teams have.

I mean for the middle period of the game we looked the better side but we've got that PL feeling again.
In the end, we looked great and then just like that it's 0-3.

A 3-0 defeat in our first game, just like two years ago.
We actually played quite well, just like two years ago.
The pundits are already writing us off. Just like two years ago.
It's going to be a struggle. Just like two years ago.

Decent performance, 3-0 isn’t the fairest reflection but we need to take our chances and tighten up on mistakes to have a chance this season.

Decent effort. Poor from Steve and Ekdal on the first. Second was a great goal. Third shows the inconsistency of officiating - pulled Fozzy in the first half on a break away. Similar on Steve for the third and not given. Either ignore both or give both but not one or the other. We need to work on our finishing, if we take pur chances it would have turned the pressure up on them.

Well played Burnley this result was never going to define our season.
The perfornace was very good against a top side.
Spurs will be there or there abouts this season under Frank without doubt and we worried them at times.
Only thing I would say is that we need a PL standard finisher.

Played well. Final third needs people who can finish however. Hannibal in that position last year didn’t look like scoring.

Personally don’t see how Sonne and Ekdal can still be at the club come the end of the window, we need to make room for better players.

Fair play to Sunderland, you can only beat the team in front of you (and they beat them well), but West Ham will be in a relegation battle this season.
Their tails will be up ahead of our game against them, but I think we’ll tweak things and look more solid.

We certainly need a finisher, however, we all knew that anyway. We had some really good spells in that game but if you don't score goals when you are having these spells it will nearly always come back to bite you at any level.

If he's determined to play a back 3 think we need an upgrade at right wing back. Neither Sonne or Roberts are up to it at this level.

I think for me there were lots of positives, foster looks sharp and deserved to start, walker is obviously still on it.
I think the team that finished is more likely to be our starting 11 going forward
If you go into meltdown after that, then you've got a screw loose

It was inconsistent and led to a goal. Fozzy stays strong and he gives the free kick. Steve doesn't get that benefit. These minor inconsistencies make a difficult task more arduous.

Fine display against a very good side. Don’t let the scoreline hide the performance. Really pleased for Foster, my MoM, a better ref and it could have gone even better for him.

Seems odd saying this after losing 3-0 but we didn't play badly. Just the difference in quality. That second goal from Richarlison really killed us. We won't concede a goal like that every week. However, I'd like to think if we play like that every week we've got a chance.
On to the next. UTC.

The only thing that's annoyed me is that with three at the back, you cannot let a lone striker have space in the box - someone should have been on Richarlison.
Other than that, it's encouraging that we created so many chances and had that many touches in Spurs' box.

Premier League in a nutshell. Nothing's really changed since the last time we were there. There were actually some shades of the early days under Kompany. Some neat possession but overall too weak, too short, too slow and too indecisive in both boxes. The positive is that we were able to create some very good chances. The negative though is that our finishing was truly, truly dreadful and that bad finishing maximises the already immense pressure the defence is under as we all know Premier League teams are ruthless.
Ekdal had a shocker. Most of whatever budget is left must go on a centre-half.

Plenty of positives and we now know the negatives. Broja hopefully could solve one of our problems and Lesley another. Ref was 100% homer which will happen at every away game. Jury is out on Dúbravka.
At least Rovers blew it Traff starting for City

I won't be confident either way such is the challenge of the PL.
But one of my immediate questions during the first game of the season wouldn't be, is next week a must win game?
I wasn't sure if you'd just forgotten some sort of emoji on the end of your question.

Best to ignore those who simply revel in misery and negativity.
I thought it was a decent performance overall. If Hannibal had put that chance away just before Richarlison's worldie we'd have been deservedly level and it would have been a very different game. Clearly we need to become more clinical in those moments, but there was plenty to be positive about and build on today.
