Where is Tuanzabe?
This lad would save us a small fortune in having to replace CJER and would slot into the middle of the back three seamlessly IMO.
The obvious question, where is he?
He was one of our first signings and should have a full pre season under his belt, so can only assume he is injured and if so does anyone know the timeline?
IMO he could well be the missing link in our defence.

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
He has an impressive injury record, so I wouldn't be expecting him to be available all the time.
If we can nurse him to full fitness and keep him that way he will be a wonderful signing.

Went off at Shrewsbury after 23 minutes, not seen again and I'm not sure we know what the injury is or its severity?

A chain is only as good as the links in it, if one of them is broken then the chain will fail.billyhamilton82 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 2:07 pm

He will be useless to us if he can't play on a consistent basis, even if this is just because of the lack of familiarity and consistency in selection.
If the consensus is that Ekdal and Worrall aren't athletic enough for us and Beyer isn't going to be up to full speed for a number of months, then we can't rely on a player who may not be available consistently.

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
We don’t half seem to get plagued with constant injuries to several key players at any given time. It’s definitely got worse in the last 2-3 years.
Can’t recall it ever being as bad in the Dyche era.

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
It's a massive problem. When you have a recruitment policy that's seem to be ideologically driven towards buying players suspectible to injuries that's where you end up. it would make more sense if you could say some were bargain buys but some I'd say are costing over the odds.TommyPicks wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 2:59 pmWe don’t half seem to get plagued with constant injuries to several key players at any given time. Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
We shouldn't be surprised he's injured. His track record suggests he will rarely play. The fact he's taking legal action against Man Utd for “clinical negligence” over the medical advice they gave him says all you need to know. His best return in a season is 30 games for Villa in 2018/19. Given he's 27 and he's only managed to hit 20+ apps in a season three times is more than a little worrying. I'll be honest, I've already written him off. Any games we get out of him is a bonus.
Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
I doubt whether any of us will be surprised if it turns out he’s injured, and I’m not sure he played again in preseason after coming off early in the first half at Shrewsbury.
SP didn’t mention an injury to him in his interview before Spurs, but he might not have been asked.

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
He's spent most of his career being injured, it's unlikely we're going to see a sudden improvement at 27.
Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
He was actually a bit unlucky last season, had a lengthy spell out injured after cutting his hand doing the washing up rather than a sporting injury.

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
We seem to be developing a habit of signing injury prone players.

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
I’ve never known us to be so unlucky/bad with injuries. Recently we have had
Ramsay
Beyer
Tresor
Benson
Humphreys
All out long term and now we have new signings of Tuanzebe and Broja with Roberts also nowhere to be seen.
It’s all really frustrating.

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
Given his record you would hope he is on some kind of appearance-based deal with us rather than a regular contract.
Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
Forgot Amdouni as well! Tbf if you sign lads like Tuanzebe and Broja who appear to be very injury prone not sure you can blame it on bad luck.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 4:36 pmI’ve never known us to be so unlucky/bad with injuries. Recently we have had

Beyer has obviously had a very bad one, i wouldn't be surprised if that was him done at this level.

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
I’d love to know how many of these injuries are from:
A)Training.
B)Match action.
C)Recurring injuries pre-signing for us.
But silence is golden.

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
He got a knock early in the 2nd half and got up like he’d been hit by Billy Rodaway, carried on for a bit then was subbed but wasn’t limping when he went off.1914tyrone wrote: ↑Tue Aug 19, 2025 4:45 pmBenson played yesterday in the U21, not that I expect him to stay

They will all be like new signings when (or if ever) they are fit

Re: Where is Tuanzabe?
His name was being sung for almost 4 hours non-stop on the coach back from Spurs (and without pause in Norton Canes services)... so you'd think that he had been an ever-present so far
