Re: Away Pubs - Saturday
All pubs are away safe these days.
Cricket Club is the most popular with away fans with parking. Only a 2 minute walk to away turnstiles now.
Not sure about the Premier inn, you could park there when the pub was open.

Sunderland always make the most of the cricket club along with home fans. There’s more going on this season too with usual parking and pie and peas but quality pizza, burger and ice cream trucks from some popular local vendors. Plus loads to keep the kids busy with inflatables and games and stuff on the outfield.

It’s no longer free limited time parking at The Prem, but you can prepay online using Your Parking Space app…….

Re: Away Pubs - Saturday
Which ones are they? I can't say i notice.
The only one i noticed was on the Vintage Claret years ago. I went in early before a game and there were 6 Everton fans at the bar.
The Preston lads even did their YouTube vlog from the Royal Dyche beer garden.
Big groups should probably go the cricket club but away fans often go in all pubs in the centre and near the ground.
Re: Away Pubs - Saturday
Last time we played Sunderland there was a few of them in the Oxford after the game, no bother. As long as you aren't being an idiot you'll be fine going anywhere these days.

Also lots of Mackems in the Big Window and the Boot last season, no bother at all.

Re: Away Pubs - Saturday
I’d avoid Colne prior to the match. There are usually lots of fans from the North East prior to their matches in East Lancs but with the Blues festival being on this weekend and lots of road closures getting from Colne ( bus station) to Burnley will be a nightmare.

I wouldn’t take that advice as suggested above cricket club is probably best

Which pubs do you go in that you don't think are suitable for away fans?Sheedyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 2:33 pmAll pubs are away safe these days

Or are you just being cautious?

Re: Away Pubs - Saturday
I'd say all Burnley pubs are away friendly as long as people are respectful and behave within reason. The only one I'd probably advise away fans to give a miss to, especially in a group, would be The Dyche, but maybe that's just my perception.

I’d stay away from any in the town centre for a startQuickenthetempo wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 2:40 pmWhich pubs do you go in that you don't think are suitable for away fans?

A bit further out but if you’re heading to Burnley on the train from Manchester then my little place - The Beer Necessities in Todmorden (one stop - 15 mins on the train from Burnley) is happy to welcome Sunderland fans.
It fact, we’re opening early at 11.30 to welcome members of the Manchester Sunderland Supporters Club.

Re: Away Pubs - Saturday
I've been in the Dyche quite a fee times with opposition fans and as long as they're here to enjoy the day and the football then they've been fine. If it's not primarily football that they're here for then I'd say they're better off elsewhere. They could always try the miners as their CCTV has been known to malfunctionDark Cloud wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 2:48 pmI'd say all Burnley pubs are away friendly as long as people are respectful and behave within reason. The White Lion in the centre is the only pub I have seen with a home fans only sign in the window.
Re: Away Pubs - Saturday
Looking forward to Saturday, think we will head to cricket club first.
Gonna head to the memorial garden first and lay some flowers prior then it’s pint o clock.

Re: Away Pubs - Saturday
I don't think that you would have any problems in The Bridge or those on Bank Parade.
The New Brewm should be fine in the town centre at a couple of quid for a decent pint of locally brewed real ale.

Like other's have said.
So long as you don't act like idiots, or act like young teenage lads who start loudly chanting songs after a couple of beers.. you'll be fine in all pubs.
Often see opposition fans around, and there's never any bother.

Re: Away Pubs - Saturday
From the memorial garden, head away from the road into the houses on Holcombe Drive to get to the cricket club rather than walking round with the new restrictions.
