Re: Access for home fans
The club has consulted with SAG regarding the changes to the stand and the entrance/egress provisions. SAG deemed the proposals adequate. I have asked some follow up questions based on concerns written on this thread and will put the responses I get on here.

Same. I wait until nearly all fans have exited the Jimmy Mac Upper before I leave on match days and still it is highly congested on the corner leading up to the club shop. It will be a nightmare at full-time and fans will be forced to leave early to avoid the crush, thereby reducing the quality of fan engagement at a crucial time in the game.dougcollins wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 6:57 amI would have liked to have seen a question on the safety issues surrounding the changes, which many on here have raised - and not just around less able supporters.

Sounds like the sale of fire sticks will be on the increase in Burnley !!!
Re: Access for home fans
Having watched the Beehole End podcast this morning that contains an interview with manager at BCC where he explained their plans for massively expanding the match day catering and drinks experience for home and away fans, I can't see past the fact this is purely about business and trying to take business away from BCC.
BFC will charge floor rent to the businesses that sell food and drinks in the Fan Zone, and also are signing brand deals like the one with Favela Cerveja as the clubs official Lager provider. They probably have to be shown to be driving value to these brands and businesses.

Shouldnt be difficult to get an answer on here. One of the people on the steering group for ISA is on the SAG.munkyennui wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 10:38 amThe club has consulted with SAG regarding the changes to the stand and the entrance/egress provisions. I’ve made my decision also having heard the podcast.Steddyman wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 10:57 amHaving watched the Beehole End podcast this morning that contains an interview with manager at BCC where he explained their plans for massively expanding the match day catering and drinks experience for home and away fans, I can't see past the fact this is purely about business and trying to take business away from BCC.

I’m going to adjust my schedule and head straight to Burnley Cricket Club, where I have never been before a game in 30 years. Then straight into the ground at 2:30 instead of to the Fan Zone.
The cricket club are a longstanding local business too working in symbiosis with the wider town. They deserve our business. They sound like they have more food stalls on and Haffners inside. A chance to chat to away fans. Going to give it a go.

Used to park in there,Kenny Scappcott on car park.Went in before and after games, but was getting too rough to take the kids,in there. With the amount of people they let in, thought the floor was gonna collapse when they all started jumping up and down

Aren’t BCC taking business away from BFC? If there was no football they’d be about 5 people there.Steddyman wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 10:57 amHaving watched the Beehole End podcast this morning that contains an interview with manager at BCC where he explained their plans for massively expanding the match day catering and drinks experience for home and away fans, I can't see past the fact this is purely about business and trying to take business away from BCC.

I've got to admit, the facilities sound much more appealing than those on offer in the fanzone.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 11:05 amI’ve made my decision also having heard the podcast.

Pretty sure which facilities, will be the best, and it won't be the cricket club

Well if the beer and food sales don’t hit the targets Alan will be buying the cricket club next.

Sad really that our 'community' club are feeling offended & intimidated by a smaller, local business trying to use matchdays to get some extra cash in. Is it really gonna make that much of a difference having a few more people in the FanZone & a bit more merchandise?
Everyone loves an underdog, Alan! BCC it is.

Re: Access for home fans
We park up just before the Fire Station. We’ll be leaving the JHS and walking round past the club shop and up Harry Potts Way then right onto Belvedere road, we’ll be walking past the away coaches so that’ll add to the congestion. There are a lot of vehicles that park at the far end of Belvedere road, way past the Premier Inn, they go right up to the far end to nearly the turn off to Queen Victoria Road - near Evans Halshaw Garage, Add to that the traffic that joins from Queens Park Road is going to be fun, looks like we’ll be much later getting home in the future. We thought about walking through the memorial ground but both being seniors we're concerned about the congestion. No doubt like us all we’ll see how tomorrow pans out.
Re: Access for home fans
I’m aware of the ISA and the FAB but what’s the SAG please and what does it do?

Re: Access for home fans
Such a shame the football club has tried to alienate fans in one fell swoop…there’s room for both the football club and the cricket club in the town but it seems obvious the football club, for whatever reason is trying to take “home” support from the cricket club….personally, as both a cricket fan and football fan I’ll still be going in the cricket club before games as the **** poor offering gs at the football club are simply overpriced rubbish….feel for those CFS fans who’ve had their seats moved without any discussion, that’s simply not the way to look after your fans

I agree with all of that, Beddie.beddie wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 12:05 pmWe park up just before the Fire Station. I too park up there, in that car park just beyond the Queen Vic.
I’ll go into town first for a pint, then go down Harry Potts Way and past the club shop to the JH stand. Before I go in, I’ll have a look to see whether there is a physical obstruction, either by way of barriers or a line of stewards, preventing an exit up Ormerod Yard after the match. If not, Ormerod Yard it is.
If there is an obstruction, I’ll try the Memorial Garden and Holcombe Drive. That’s got to be quicker than walking all the way round.
I really cannot get my head round why our present owners are seeing fit to inconvenience so many of our supporters.

The 'enhanced experience' only applies to the away fans- drink in the CC, nice easy amble down to your seat in the Cricket Field, straight out and home.
I'd be in good spirits and fine voice if I was a visitor to TM.

Re: Access for home fans
But using the cricket club, will put a extra ten minute walk to get in ground.Meaning I may have to set off earlier than I have done for the last 20 years
Re: Access for home fans
Would you report back lakedistrictclaret how it went. We’ll like do that route but think it’ll be too congested for us, especially being the first home game. It’s probably not wide enough up Ormerod Yard to put a section in the middle to divide fans but it would have been good.lakedistrictclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 22, 2025 12:58 pm

Will do beddie.
I expect many of us will share our experiences on here after tomorrow’s game, so that together we can make the best of what is a thoroughly bad job.

Re: Access for home fans
To me a sensible and possible solution to this problem would be to make another entrance to the away end via a new Gate into an Party wall behind the Cricket Club pavilion.and Club land. This would allow home supporters to continue using existing access to the JH stand and away fans entry behind Cricket pavilion.
With a little thought this could be feasible

Probably the same idiots that agreed to remove the round about and make it a traffic junction.Carport wrote: ↑Wed Aug 20, 2025 5:12 pmThe Club were pleased to reveal exciting stadium transformation plans to enhance the matchday atmosphere and fan experience at Turf Moor recently.
The stadium renovations will be carried out in a phased approach and ahead of Saturday's home game against Sunderland the Club wish to inform supporters of access changes that may affect their entry and exit to and from the stadium.
How does this improve match day atmosphere and fan experience? Who agreed this nonsense?
Always clogged right up past Tesco now, and takes ages in peak time to get through there.. even at non peak times, you spend ages waiting at those traffic lights.
Anyway, like others have said, it's going to be a nightmare at the Jimmy Mc exit. It was already VERY tight and slow exiting there with that bottleneck.
I can see some people getting mad with the wait and trying to push through.. causing others to crush up against each other.
Absolutely stupid decision this, that's surely going to backfire?

I follow the club on WhatsApp but there is nothing on there about it.
I have not even received an email about it, although they did email my two kids digital tickets yesterday.
Communication is really poor.

I was tempted myself

Seriously though...this is more a plan to get the home support away from the cricket club to the fanzone than to starve the cricket club of income. If anything the cricket club will likely gain because I'm sure the increased convenience of closer access will mean more away fans use it. It will probably more than make up for the loss of the home fans in my opinion. We shall see.
I wonder if AP got wind of BCC plans to increase their offerings and facilities? You'd have to think so.

Could have at least been explored or discussed.
