Dubravka

Walker - Humphreys - Esteve

Tanzuebe - Cullen - Uguchukwu - Hartman

Taoucha - Foster - Anthony

Broja

Humphreys is perfect as the central player in a back 3 because he is capable with both feet, and similar pace to Egan Riley.

Would love to see what Foster is like in the 10 running in beyond Broja for flick ons and through balls etc.

Not sure about Walker and Tanzuebe, they could swith positions?
Be great if we could get 12 on the pitch.

Don't think he's big enough / strong enough, especially in the air, to be the central centre back personally.

I've heard, Les starts, still no Roberts, Ramsey makes the bench. Broja will play but not sure if starting.
Anything on Humphreys?

Given Humphreys can play LB very well, wouldn't you rather have Esteve in the middle? I think I'd rather our man mountain be central with Humphreys a bit more license to link up with Hartman.

At home against Sunderland would fancy us to be less cautious at the back and back to more of a 4-5-1 to accommodate Edwards. Think Broja and Tuanzabe will still be on the bench. Think it will look something like this with Hannibal behind the striker.

Dubravka
Walker Ekdal Esteve Hartman
Edwards Cullen Les Anthony
Hannibal
Foster

OK so no Humphreys. I thought he may have made the bench.

Back four please Scott.
Dubravka
Walker, Esteve, Ekdal, Hartman
Cullen, Hannibal in centre mid
Edwards, Anthony as wingers
Foster behind Flemming up top

I think that the likes of Tchaouna, Ugochukwu, Broja, Humphreys & Tuanzebe will need a game to bring them up to speed, next Tuesday in the cup in the starting 11. Good options for the bench though.

Good shout in relation to Humphreys and Hartman linking on the left.

I would just be concerned with Esteve dragged over onto his right foot, and Humphreys isnt small at 6 foot 1, although admittedly a slighter build.

I think that’s an aggressive team.

Yep, playing with 12 will definitely help.

think he will go with a back 4 today, will look to attack more, which is probably what Sunderland wants, they want to counterattack and are fast enough, Ekdal will be in trouble unless he stays way back in this one. I think only one new starter in Lesley for this game, others I expect to have some game time with U21's before starting, not deemed fit enough, but maybe on the bench and a late few minutes run out. Foster to lead and hopefully he has his shooting boots on today. Edwards to start, need something to unlock their defense, in addition to more balls slung into their box.
