Pretty certain he used to be a winger and he’s now a RWB.
So if anything this seems to be the Sonne upgrade in the back 5 formation.
I thought Sonne should really maturity when he came on yesterday and help see the game out.
However at spurs he looked out his depth, but spurs also made Rico Lewis look out his depth yesterday.

BBC have done an article about "What each Premier League Club needs before the Transfer Window Shuts", the short piece on Burnley below:
Burnley
Burnley have secured 13 permanent transfers this summer in a bid to survive in the Premier League, with sources suggesting that will be that unless a deal appears that they cannot resist.
Key defender Maxime Esteve has been the subject of interest, so if any late offers come in manager Scott Parker is likely to seek out a replacement.
The Clarets have also been dealt a blow in that area after Jordan Beyer, suffered a setback following 19 months out with a knee injury, so Parker will be weighing up that option carefully.
As we near the end of the summer window, Parker has said there will be outgoings at Turf Moor, to "lighten" Burnley's squad.

This is somewhat interesting:
BREAKING: Scott Parker has told Belgian winger Mike Tresor to “stop, collaborate and listen” ahead of Tuesday nights cup tie against Derby County. The pair are undergoing talks with Tresor stating “I want to break free” in transfer terms. Will Magic Mike return?!

Two ex players training with Sheff Utd with a view of getting a contract are Redmond and Ings. Plus talk of Mee attracting attention from Sheff Utd too . Someone previously mentioned on here-Soucek is target for David Moyes, but the real bargain for me who is probably leaving Man City-Akanji is subject to £15m offer from Palace. In todays prices that appears a bargain

Think wages might be a problem !
Manuel Akanji earns an annual salary of £9.3 million (or $9.36 million) with a reported base weekly salary of £180,000 at Manchester City, according to multiple sources including Spotrac.com, salaryleaks.com, and AiScore. This figure was part of the five-year contract he signed in 2022, which also reportedly includes performance-related bonuses.

Staggering figures for someone not playing in the first 11

He has played the majority of Premier League games for City since he signed.

With 1 goal in his last 43 appearances I’d rather try Flemming/Ramsey/Tresor there than be paying out on another fee and wages.

I suspect he’s been targeted as a back up to Cullen. (I know he traditionally plays a bit further forward but in latter years he’s started drifting further back and being more of a metronome type midfielder).
Would make a lot of sense to me.

"The 21-year-old Senegalese defender has already accepted the terms of a four-year contract with the Clarets."
I mean, this makes things even more complicated because it's not just a rumour - he's actually communicated with the club and agreed a deal!

He has agreed terms on a contract, basically he is happy with the package we have offered, not necessarily he will sign for us if other clubs come sniffing, also reporting that Wolfsburg have made a bid for him as well.

If Leeds or Sunderland are mentioned, it's lazy work and you can pretty much ignore it.

We don't need another striker/winger who can't score goals. We've got enough of those already thanks.

Sort of what I was hinting at with my wording and the fact that Leeds are mentioned as well. It's a link, no matter how tenuous it is, nevertheless

If only we'd signed DCL....
For Leeds it was a frustrating evening, and in particular for new signing Calvert-Lewin.
The former Everton striker has pedigree in this competition, having scored 12 goals in his previous 16 appearances, but endured a game to forget.
Calvert-Lewin should have scored the winner in stoppage time, but somehow shot wide with the goal gaping, and was then twice denied by Horvath.
To sum up a miserable night for him and Leeds at Hillsborough - a ground where they had not lost since 2017 - he launched his penalty high over the bar in the resulting shootout.

At what point is this anything to do with a link to Burnley?

Worrall, Humphreys are part of first team . Tuanzebe when fit is primarily a RB and only on a years contract so unlikely to be going. THat leaves just Delcroix and Beyer, but the latter is on a long term recovery, no one would take him right now. Delcroix has no future with us so needs to go this window

I think we have the option of extending Tuanzebe's contract for another year. But yeah, does look like Delcroix.

Its possible Worrall has said to SP that he wants to be playing regularly and the club will find him a suitable loan or sale (as per John Egan). Thats a shame as I think Scott has a lot of trust in him. If thats the case then I would expect a "serious " CH joining us, and Worrall only leaving when that happens

No problem with Worrall at Championship level, or a sub to bring on in the latter minutes to defend a lead. But at the end of the day he's still a place on the bench that can be easily improved.
