All this Edwards ‘attitude’ talk. I have seen pics and videos of him with last years promotion celebrations and he is always subdued….even when the boys are drinking and singing Natasha’s hit.

Edwards was a major factor in us getting promoted and is extremely talented whether he starts or comes off the bench

Some of us are harsh on our players. Ekdal last week, Edwards this week, Kolo all year last year.
Our fans are short-sighted at times. Reports of the game mention Edwards’ involvement in our first goal, yet he did ‘nothing’.

From my restricted view in the Bob Lord stand
Will pay more attention to seat position next time.

Weiss 6 didn't have a lot to do...no chance with their goal
Sonne 6
Worrall 7
Humphreys 6
Pires 6
Ramsey 7
Laurent 7
Edwards 6 needs to work harder off the ball and a few too many missed places passes
Tchaouna 7 looked good
Flemming 6 a re introduction tonight after injury got a chance to play as a 10... Not convincing
Broja 5. I hope tonight was all about fitness

Subs:
Banel 8. Electric
Barnes 6
Tresor 7. So good to see him back

Had the game finished after 5 minutes I'd have given him an 8.

Then later he won a free-kick we hit the post from.

Not saying Edwards pulled up any trees, but he certainly wasn’t as useless as some are making out. He’s just the latest target because, well, a section of our fans always have to have a target.

He also produced the cross - an outstanding cross, on the run, whilst running away from the goal - from which Flemming should have put us 2-1 up before half time. It was a curates egg of a performance - a few outstanding moments, but quite a few untidy moments as well.

Amazed to see the odd 5 for Ramsey. I thought he was excellent considering it was his first game for 18 months. Scored one, integral to the other, pulled the strings at the heart of midfield. I think he made more passes than any other Burnley player and his pass completion rate was about 90%. For a player who hasn't played 90 minutes for a very long time, I thought that was outstanding and a huge plus.

Credit to Banel as well. It's only 20 minutes, but that was an eye catching cameo.

Weiss 6-little to do
Sonne 7-great finish
Worrall 7, our best defender
Humphreys 6-needs game time
Pires 6
Ramsey 7-well taken goal
Laurent 6
Tchaouma 8. Liked him from the first few minutes of coming on at Spurs
Flemming 6-looks like he needs more time/game time as he was, like Saturday very slow to the ball
Broje 6-some nice touches but looks a long way from match fitness
Edwards 5-thought he looked poor last night and short of confidence. I don't think he has the work rate and challenging that Parker wants

Banel 7-what a stunning performance
Tanzuebe 6-did not see much of him but again needs match fitness
Barnes 6-you could see his influencing with the younger players

Agree on Ramsey, thought he did well, given he was playing in a midfield 2 as well. I wonder if he’ll be kept around and there’s a route to some game time? It’s a tough one as he probably needs regular minutes now, but seems a decent Hannibal alternative, though hasn’t played in the first two. Been talk, inc from myself, of needing another midfielder, but we’ve got someone here who has already been with us, is part of the group, knows the style of play and seems a decent lad (plus we paid a decent clip for him).

I haven't seen anything suggesting Ramsey will be loaned out, indeed on the contrary the mood music from the club suggests he's an integral part of our plans. Currently, he'd be our 5th central midfielder and he also covers the attacking midfield/wide slots as well. He's a player who could well come into his own as the season wears on and the game time of a couple more cup ties will stand him in good stead.

Not many seeing the potential in Ramsey. I accept he can occasionally lose possession, but he is defo our Brownhill replacement and needs to be in the number 10 role.

I usually step short of critical commentary because I follow the ball and I don't read the game as well as many people who better understand what goes on off it. Laurent a prime example last night. And I would sometimes be guilty of lack of objectivity in rating players who I really want to see do well because they've been through a difficult time with health or injury. I accept that we shouldn't over-rate players yet in Foster I see an enormously capable individual who is now performing with confidence and meriting the 7s and 8s I was handing out this time last year when we could see how hard he was trying.. Likewise now Tresor, His ability to play the telling pass could be crucial in the months ahead.

Do our comments get back to them? Surely some of them will, and our "views" will contribute to their own confidence and feeling of commitment to Club and cause. Not all of them are mercenaries. I used to relish reading the paper when I got a few runs in the East Kent League. Less so when I got a blob. Point is we should think twice about the implications in handing out 3s and 4s, Sometimes players may struggle in a game, but don't we all have off-days when nothing goes right or our biorhythms are off? That doesn't mean they're not trying or lack ability.

I thought last night's performance was hugely encouraging and I wouldn't have marked anyone less than 6. Derby are a decent side and they fielded pretty much their Championship XI, yet our "second-string" were superior. Yes, some may need to get out on loan to get to peak fitness and match readiness, but don't write them off. CJER proved that, and who knows if he would have committed to the Club for longer had he felt he really was one of us.

I'm not....I've spent too long reading the guff on here. Ramsey had a very effective game. Edwards was fine...we'd be watching championship football on saturday rather than watching us play at OT if we'd not signed him.

I couldn’t go to the game last night but heard the second half radio Lancs comms. David Unsworth certainly wasn’t impressed with Broja’s work rate and overall body language. Hopefully it’s just a fitness thing at this stage.

He just was not match fit-infact a long way off it, but some good lay offs including first goal. Just like to say Everton fans did not take to Broje during his loan span and suspect Unsworth is still an Evertonian

Incredible over reaction from a few on here. Basically a run out for a lot of our players who have hardly played any minutes this sseason. There was always going to be some misplaced passes and general rustiness. I believe we didn't even beat Derby last year? Good run out from some of the squad who desperately needed it.

Weiss 6 - little to do
Sonne 7- the big plus has to be the position he took up for his composed finished
Worrall 7 - Solid and strong in the challenge
Humphreys 6 - did OK for his first real run out in a long time
Pires 7 - linked well with Tchaouna and hard to beat
Edwards 7 - instrumental in us getting off to a strong start and had influence in the game when he was on the ball
Laurent 7 - Always a presence in midfield with his energy and reading of the game
Ramsey 8 - took his goal excellently and finished strongly
Tchaouna 8 - always wanting to go at their defence and looked strong and savvy
Flemming 5 - clearly not match fit but never hid
Broja 6- like Flemming, credit for his assist. Lots more to come when his running is sharpened

Tuanzebe 6 - started tentatively and showed his physical strength as the second half developed
Barnes 6 - good showing from Ashley, focal point when we needed a strong finish to avoid penalties
Banel 7 - showed his pace and potential

Excellent work out and clearly some needed it more than others. Excited to be in the draw for the next round.

For a team who have never/rarely played together before it was a very good performance overall.

From tv
Weiss 7 not much to do
Sonne 7 I think this lad could be a good right back
Humphreys 6 looked very rusty good to see him back
Worrall 6 he's a good back-up choice
Pires 7 linked up well with Tchaouna
Edwards 5 a couple of nice touches in the whole game is not good enough. He looks downright lazy at times
Laurent 6 I forgot he was playing until he touched the bsll a few times in the second half. I like him as a player but he needs to involve himself more
Ramsey 7 good in bits
Tchaouna 8 mom, has to be very close to the starting eleven
Flemming 6 looked rusty, needs more minutes
Broja 6 some nice touches but not much pace. Looks miles away in fitness for PL
Tuamzebe 6 needs match time
Banel 7 this was the first time i have really seen him. He was very impressive, pacey, direct good football brain. One to watch.
Difficult to mark the players on last night's game. Some lacking training, some returning from injury, never played together before. If that eleven were fully fit and up to speed, they would beat most teams in the Championship.

Not been a fan of what I’ve seen of Ramsey but last night I thought he did really well and I was quite surprised. I still think he’s a probably a very good Championship level midfielder when fit but he looked lost in the Premier League last time around.

I enjoyed last night and even got home around midnight. I kept thinking on the drive home, the 11 that beat Sunderland are not playing, so this really is our back up plus Roberts, Beyer, Benson and Banel, oh and Bashley. Who gets a shirt for the Man U game be it play or sub?

Weiss 7
Sonne 7+ Man U
Worrall 7 Man U
Humphreys 6
Pires 7
Laurent 7 Man U
Ramsey 7 Man U
Tchaouna 8 Man U
Edwards 5
Flemming 6 Man U
Broja 5

I did like the raw talent of Banel and would definitely like to see him again soon

From Telly

Weiss 6 not a lot to do
Pires 7 Solid
Worrell 7 Sold a pup on their goal
Humphreys 6 good to see him on the pitch
Sonne 7 Great goal
Tchauna 8 looks promising
Ramsey 7 Good to see him start, can he reach his potential now.......
Laurent 7 Usual solid effort
Edwards 7 Apart from all the noise on here, he did provide that lovely cross that Flemming only headed at the keeper
Flemming 6 should have scored
Broja 6 Nice layoff, needs more time to get match sharpness

Tuanzebe 7 good to see him too
Barnes 7 Nice layoff for the Goal
Bannel 7 Surprise performance of the night
Tresor 7 Well he's not called MAGIC Mike for nothing

he looked lost in the Premier League last time around.
He (Ramsey) was 20 ffs...and playing in a disorganised rabble.

Then later he won a free-kick we hit the post from.

Not saying Edwards pulled up any trees, but he certainly wasn’t as useless as some are making out. He’s just the latest target because, well, a section of our fans always have to have a target.
I thought it was just me judging by the ratings. Some very, very harsh comments on his performance in my opinion. The latest narrative is that he doesn’t track back so he must be lazy, useless and uninterested.

Edwards is one of those “edge of your seat” players. He’ll frustrate you at times but he has all the talent in the world and even at the Prem level I think will turn a few games on their head.

All did pretty well. Just so slow fannying about.

I enjoyed Tchauna's pace, strength and directness.

Special mention for Tresor. That is the 2nd cameo performance I have seen (Reading) and both times he has changed the game.

Not since Defour have we had someone who can pick and complete those defence splitting through balls.
