Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
Worrall left his boyhood club in a similar scenario to get first team football. It would make no sense for him to want to stay.
It hasn't worked out for him here so it's probably the right time to let him go.

I was surprised to see how big Tuanzebe is. He is some sized unit.
Spoken to a few Mackems this week, (I live near the training ground), they are now starting to see what I meant before the season started when I told them they were doing what we did 2 years ago. It feels so exciting, but you really need experience, that's what Dyche relied on more than anything and it WORKED!
They also commented how much bigger we were as a team than them, another thing we lacked last time.

Would depend how much he wants to play i suppose. Would be a decent signing for somebody like Birmingham.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 1:36 pmI'm not so sure we'd be able to shift Worrall; he'll be on a packet. Only a handful of interested clubs would be able to pay his wages.

Delcroix leaving rather than Worrall please. Worrall is the best we have in the air and the only CB likely to pose an attacking threat at corners.

If we were down to the bare bones and had to pick between Delcroix and Worrall, I'd 100 percent go with Delcroix.LincsWoldsClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 4:45 pmDelcroix leaving rather than Worrall please. Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
There is no way we are planning to let Worral leave. He was made captain last night and he had an excellent performance, much better than when he played against Preston. He will definitely by the main cover.LincsWoldsClaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 4:45 pmDelcroix leaving rather than Worrall please. He cost us a goal with a woeful piece of anticipation and defending
Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
Joe Worrall was very good (esp at leeds) until injured. Has done a job when he has needed to come on and is the only centre half we have that has played regularly in a side that stayed in the premier league. That experience is priceless. He had one bad game at Preston in the cup (when many others did too) and hes allegedly not good enough, worse than delcroix etc.

That goal started with whoever (pires or humphreys i cant remember) got rolled with ease on the half way line.
Anyway no idea on the French lad whatsoever. Seems strange to be chasing a young unproven centre half

I thought it was poor defending overall for their goal. Not just down to one player.

Lord knows what Eustace would have said if they'd conceded the goal we did. He didn't give us an ounce of credit for our goals, and basically made them sound like it was all down to poor defending and no attacking skill at all.ollieclarets8 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 7:15 pmI thought it was poor defending overall for their goal. Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
There were quite a few culpable for that goal. Humphreys got done far too easily in the first place. Sonne got dragged across into Worrall's space far too early and then tried to recover and got caught in no-mans land. Possibly exposed by Sonne's positioning, but Edwards was slow to react to the full back's burst. And then Worrall sold himself a bit easily, but by that point the damage was largely done. It was a bit of a mess all round.
Either way, we still need another centre half in the squad in my opinion, and that is likely to result in perhaps two of those already in the squad departing. One would be Delcroix, who is clearly not in Parker's plans, and that would therefore mean one of Ekdal or Worrall likely moving on - and Ekdal appears to be the man in possession.

Edwards was running back to tackle the Derby player and was in touching distance of him then he just stopped running.northeastclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 27, 2025 7:19 pmI disagree , he was already marking a player and another Derby player who wasn’t marked and was already running at pace was able to nip in front of him.

Re: Summer 2025 BFC Transfer Window - Links and discussion on the Linked player only.
Should be all over Werner if hes available for the right money. People have been happy with the Broja signing when hes actually done next to nowt in his career.
Werner has a great goalscoring record. Often people just see his spell at Spurs and 2nd period at Leipzig and decide hes pants, whereas at Chrlsea he was alright, played predominantly wide left. He missed some sitters but creates so many problems with his pace and direct running. Before that at Leipzig scored at hat full prompting Chelsea to spend nearly £50 million on him.
Hes also 1 in 2 (ish) for Germany.

According to Sport Bild Timo Werner is not interested in a move and wants to stay put and keep picking up his 200k per week until his contract with Leipzig ends next year. Of course this could just be a negotiation ploy.

Yeah, it stated that in the link I posted about Werner wanting to stay.
Also Arthur Vermeeren, a 20 yr old Dutch international DM has been told to look for another club from RBL. Not linked with us I know, but thinking we could be on this, depending on how much RBL want and how much we have left to spend, as transfermarket has him at €20 mill.

Vermeeren only joined Leipzig permanently in January and they already want rid - why? Not good enough? Poor attitude? Only lasted 6 months at Atletico Madrid too, something clearly off with him.
Also he's Belgian not Dutch

But how would we guarantee playing time? He's surely competing with Ugochukwu, who we've just signed for a big fee and presumably has assurances over game time.burnley007 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 12:39 pmIt possibly depends on guaranteed playing time.

He's not a swap for Cullen, doesn't have the same passing ability - completely different profile of player and he doesn't play as far forward as Hannibal.

I think Ugochukwu is capable of playing further forward. I'm sure Chelsea fans said he was capable as both a 6 or an 8 so we possibly could accommodate all 3 in a midfieldKellyClaret wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 1:16 pmBut how would we guarantee playing time? We are apparently after a centre back as well.
