O/T Airport transfer

Post by dougcollins » Mon Mar 10, 2025 9:38 pm

Could anyone please recommend a reliable private hire airport transfer, Skipton/Keighley area to Manchester?

It was actually cheaper for the wife and I to give my lad some petrol money, get him to drop us off and pick us up, and stay in a hotel at the airport the night before, than it was to get a return transfer, and that's only from the Bolton side of Darwen!!

They want crazy money these days....

I'm definitely beginning to agree with you there!

Probably be quicker and cheaper to get the train to Bradford and on to Manchester, then airport.

Transpennine!

Arguably the most unreliable service in the country.

The motorways to get you there aren't exactly reliable.

It took us an hour and 15 minutes to get to Manny airport from Padiham 6 weeks ago.

I download the welcome taxi app. They supply airport transfers in 250 places worldwide, they will supply a local company and update the vehicle, numberplate and drivers name. I've used them all over the world and can't recommend them more highly.

Maybe we should start a Clarets on Tour style service where you post the times you want to get dropped off and picked up from the airport and see if anyone on here can take you for the price of the fuel and drop off fee.

If you want something you can book and forget, this worked for me. I put in the Keighley address and MAN drop on Transfeero, got driver details a few hours ahead, and then just stepped out when he arrived. Since they’ve got a UK support line, changes felt low-stress when my return slid. I’d do that again over rolling the dice on an on-demand app

Uber x is £63.00 to Manchester Terminal 2 in mid September. Not sure how that compares?

I usually park at the airport - meet and greet terminal 1 is usually about 125 quid for 7 days

Just been online to check and it only goes up to 153 quid for 14 days

I use this app also. Always had excellent service and reasonable prices.

If anyone has a Blue Light Discount Card, they offer up 18% sometimes on airport parking.

I've parked on someone's drive way about 10 mins walk from airport for about £5 a day (using the just park app) and it's usually £8/10 in an uber from there to the terminal but easily walkable for a quick trip if I have no suitcases.

Always easy to do and have the security of being on someone's drive which gives me more comfort.

If its a short trip I've found a spot about 10 min (£10) uber away which is free street parking and never let me down for a 2/3 day trip.

I used to use the airport carparks but it's easy enough and simple enough now to just use just park and save a fortune

When we used Manchester Airport last year, we booked a park and ride. Cost about £60 to park in wythenshawe and they ferry you in. Piece of cake.
