Venkys reiterate their "commitment" to Deadwood and state that "our focus is bringing top flight football back."
(Lancs Telegraph).
The locals are frothing at the gills on its website.
Do we hear the "Venkys out" campaign grinding to a halt?
Great news.

I found this the most telling in the article..
" ......and increasing its potential re-sale value.".
I think their goal is to break even on revenue/expenses to make it more attractive to a buyer. Relegation to league 1 will make it harder to sell the club but someone will pay venkys to take the club off their hands with venkys eating some/all of the debt. The are realizing it is a money pit. Even with a new owner, this is a hole that they might never climb out of - struggling to between league 1 and the championship.

take out the scale of the financials, all we're seeing here is what we went through on and off the pitch in the late 70s-thru the 90s - same deal, different time. Look how long it took us to get back to where we are......
I feel they're in for a wait without further investment, which they'll not want to do

That supposes a crowd of at least 3 but at current rates they'll be getting below that very shortly.

"Top flight football".
Maybe they think the further down the fixed odds coupon or pools you drop. You end up in the Scottish top flight!!!

What the vast majority of bas turds want/ expect/ demand is another doddering old timer to pop up, sp unk away a few zillion pounds, return them to where 'we deserve to be', buy the top players, pay them huge wages, and let the shadsworth collective have season tickets for approx. £199 - a bit like last time. Simple.
Until that happens, the spoilt, arrogant bunch will not be happy.

I'd actually find it funnier if they came out and said they were looking to move on as soon as someone offers them a figure which covers all debts owed to them as a club... I wonder how much interest there would be if by offers start from at least £100 million?!

If they are willing to maintain Rovers losses to try to get back into the premier league, then any Rovers fan who is actually one will probably be pretty happy. They won't be able to say it like, but the alternative is a total collapse, and everyone pointing and laughing at them.
No Rovers fan could hack that

Saxo enjoys being pointed and laughed at.

Looks like the Venkys are making an early bid for the Burnley supporters of the season 2016-17.

It has to be said that the Rovers fans groups are very passionate about they're cause and the club. A shame for them that they are thick as **** really..

So passionate that they won't go and watch them anymore now that they aren't very good and try and justify it as a "boycott".

They are now aiming for a boycott the Lancs Telegraph now.
Much more and they aren't going to be able to leave their house. Apparently the Lancs Telegraph know all about the corruption too but are also in on it so won't say anything. They would give bluelab a run for his money with their made up ****

That BRFCS messageboard is pure comedy gold at times. I particularly liked this little gem;
The LP still manage to employ local sportswriters not sure if the BN does but there's no real excuse for the telerag not to especially given the nature of Rovers and the passion that surrounds the club.
That'll be the same passion that ensures that the only things more pathetically attended than their matches are their protests...

Or maybe he's referring to what goes on in fields, stables and allotments in the Ewood area.
