Re: Robbie brady
Good quickness there boyyanno! Advantage is he didn't play in the cup due to suspension, so could in theory play in the reply v Sunderland if signed in time (or indeed the next round all going well). Very wishful thinking, but why not....

Don't players have to be registered prior to the original tie to be eligible for replays?Claretmatt4 wrote:Getting way ahead of myself here I know, but how early would he have to signed to be involved tomorrow?
Edit: quoted wrong post btw

Re: Robbie brady
In terms of replays, I think you are right. It was the case a few years ago that a player had to be signed a week before the original game to play in that or any replay.Walton wrote:Don't players have to be registered prior to the original tie to be eligible for replays?
In terms of the Premier League, a player must be signed by noon on the working day before the fixture, so for any player to feature tomorrow in the Premier League he will have to sign by 12 today.

Re: Robbie brady
Was it Defoe who played in the 2nd leg against us for Spurs in the semi?
What was his status in the first leg? Had he signed for Spurs by then?
Different cups and probably a difference between replays and 2 leg ties too?

Defoe was paraded at the first game as a new signing.

Re: Robbie brady
Don't watch ROI games (or Norwich), is Brady going to add any pace to the side ? Or is he another grafter / runner ?
Appears highly rated by many on here so just wondering what he would potentially bring to the party.

Re: Robbie brady
He's got a good engine and is a good grafter, also has a terrific left foot. He isn't blistering but I'd say he's probably faster than our current wingers.
I still would like someone whose a bit different but this would be a fantastic signing.

Rules for the FA Cup.
All players must have been eligible to play in the original tie in order to play in a replayed or postponed match; however a player who has been suspended according to the disciplinary procedures under the Rules of The Association may play in a postponed or replayed match after the term of his suspension has expired.
To play in the original tie, they must have been registered by noon on the Friday before the game.

Re: Robbie brady
Thanks Tony,
I see this rule still applies too!
13.5 In the Semi-Final ties, if the aggregate score is level at the end of the second game an extra half-hour shall be played. If the aggregate scores are still level at the end of extra time the tie shall be decided by goals scored away from home counting twice. If the teams remain equal after this procedure the tie shall be determined by the taking of kicks from the penalty mark in accordance with the Laws of Association Football.

Always been the case in the League Cup - don't think they have ever considered changing it
