Setting off on train in an hours time. Is weather ok in Burnley apart from probably bitter cold? BBC weather says icy but not snow. Cheers guys.

I've got my shorts on ( seriously ) . It's bordering Costa del so here with bright blue skies. Although it's cold and I'll certainly wrap up in time for the Turf.

It's so hot in Padiham I have gone outside and fried my breakfast egg on the bonnet of my car. BBQ after the game and a skinny dip in the Calder.

At train station now. As me old dad used to say when he was alive and living in Burnley, "It's crackin 't flags up here lad"

My Dad used to say ''get owta bed, sun's burning slates off roof..''. ''I'd better stay in bed then....'' was always my response

The weather woman on our local news keeps describing the weather as "usable" i.e. "Looks like we will have some usable weather over the weekend". Really winds me up.

Get mine on at the moment - just off to a 21st B/Day part - Mexican night, so the check pattern goes well!

I said "crackin't flags" last summer to a relative from Liverpool, it was too, but she'd no idea what it meant.

as i type though, the sun is very bright, no snow or any sign of it. Probably be a cue for record breaking blizzard within the hour having wrote that.

Can't believe it! Just passing through Stockport and blue skies and sun is shining. Think I am over dressed. Should have put my chino shorts on and claret and blue Fred Perry.
Mind you we all know how temperature drops as soon as second half starts on the Turf so I will be glad of my padded jacket come four o'clock!

yes,it can be changeable. It has been a case of hawaian shirts and straw sun hats first half recently, to sub arctic second half temperatures when you need to be as resourceful as Sir Ranolf Feinnes to survive . Difficult to make a good clothing choice.
