Gawthorpe Development

Post by AlwaysClaret » Fri Jan 20, 2017 1:41 pm

Not seen any updates for a while...anyone have any recent photo's etc....should be not to far away from completion by now.

The impact on our club of this development will be huge I feel.

Good to be a Claret right now.

Cheers fella.

I am sure I read somewhere that it was expected to open early Feb, looks a way off yet.

Does this link work for anyone? The camera doesn't load for me, maybe a restriction on the work PC however.

Looks as though we've made good use of that this season. Y'know getting used to that famous Turf Moor slope.

They were actually doing an interview in the car park yesterday. I watched it on the IPLive stream for about 10 minutes trying to work out who the blurry figures were. One was Darren Bentley, I think, and the other was a tall bald guy, don't think it was Dyche though.
Anyway, they should be an update on clarets player soon. I think they mentioned a new Turf More was coming soon on the Sunderland commentary.

It's a disgrace, it's all black and there's some odd glowing chinese puppet show going on in the top left hand corner. What's that all about?

That is one heck of an ugly and brutal building. The designer should be fired. Why was their no effort to disguise it? It is (still just about) in an area of natural beauty. Although, it surely won't be long now before planning permission to build houses in what will now be claimed to be a 'developed' area will follow from other rapacious and greedy developers.

It seems silly to put a grass roof on the accommodation block and nothing on the indoor pitch.

I might be wrong but I though a lot of the exterior was to be clad in some form of wood to fit the area.
