That's a fair old drop in standard.

Two levels above where we signed him from, but considering he was on trial with Bradford City in the summer and eventually went to the SPL, it looks like his days are numbered with us.

Keeps him local in a team doing well. Probably what he needs right now.

Its competetive football in a promotion chase so should be good for him.randomclaret2 wrote:That's a fair old drop in standard.

Can't imagine him establishing himself with us in either top flight or championship given he's dropped down so far

Re: ARTICLE: Green makes loan move to Salford
I've always wondered what happens when a professional footballer (full time) goes out on loan to a non league club (that say, only train twice a week type thing) what happens with the full time player. Or would they only go out on loan to a full time side?
Can anyone shed some light.

Pretty sure when it is a local loan, in this case, he will be based at Burnley still for the full time training and make his way to Salford for part time training schedule and games, not sure when the player is not local for example when he was at Kilmarnock.SloughClarets wrote:I've always wondered what happens when a professional footballer (full time) goes out on loan to a non league club (that say, only train twice a week type thing) what happens with the full time player. I'm actually attending their match tomorrow against FC United so I'll be delighted to see how he gets on if he plays, along with the two former Clarets in FC's team.

Yeah, sure - it won't be tomorrow though, there's a gig at the ground before the match and then off into Manchester afterwards so a few aperitifs will be consumed. I'm hoping I actually remember his performance, in fact!
