clarets v Florists cup semi final

Post by 7decades » Sat Jan 28, 2017 10:23 am

My brother who is a Nottingham Florist fan (yes there are some left hidden in dark corners) texted me this morning talking of a semi final between our two clubs in which a florist player broke a leg but the other 10 beat us. Anybody know more details please ?

To my knowledge we've only once played Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, it was in the 1930s and was a 5th round tie which we won.

Stuart Pearce broke David Hamiltons leg in the league cup. Early 90s and a two legged tie, so it might of been a later round.

CT:
Who was Stuart Pearce playing for when I was on the Longside
singing "You let your country down" after he'd missed the penalty for England?
Or was that the League Cup?
Now you've got my mind spinning.

That was the final though at Wembley and Luton were very definitely not us.

Has anyone checked Barnsley's FA Cup records against Forest?
