Liverpool Vs Wolves

Post by IndigoLake » Sat Jan 28, 2017 12:32 pm

Wolves have scored after 1 minute. Liverpool have fielded a pretty weak side in my opinion.

That's what you get for playing Status Quo in the pre match build-up.

That lad, Costa, for Wolves. When did we last see a player do that for us? Crikey.

Hahaha, fair point for the finish, though there was a clip on him. But that run was fantastic.

Yeah, I do miss that bit of excitment in our play. Robbie Blake was capable of going on a decent run. He didn't have any pace but he could turn opponents and put them on their arses! Glen Little and Chris Eagles as well.

Andre Gray scored a goal last season (away from home I think) with a run from a fair distance. Ings probably had a goal or two like that too.

I'm not criticising us btw, how could I, off what we've achieved? But it's fantastic to see such talent sometimes. Defour against Hull, his only goal, was great, but we don't see it often enough.

Costa is seemingly injured now.

Edit - back on.

Wolves score on the counter to make it 0-2. Good move.

Not sure about that. Made a couple of good runs but he hasn't exactly got much of a history of goals (perhaps evidenced by his slice earlier!).

Is klop unsackable? No mention ever of him being under pressure.

Didn't he sign a massive contract?

I wouldn't expect Klopp to be under pressure just yet, he's a great manager. Liverpool need to stick with a set framework (Oh god my inner Dyche) and the rewards will pay off.

I'm sure the Liverpool board will take where they are in the table at the minute, only 2 points off 2nd in the Premier League. What pressure?

Get in.

Klopp's done a good job there in just over a year. They're wobbling a bit but today he's resting a number of key players so it's not really fair to judge them on this performance (IMO).

I'd be a bit disappointed if we didn't get anything from our game at Anfield. First Swansea and now Wolves are going through their defence with ease!

Spijed,

That's a Liverpool team with an abundance of changes. We're going to be going there facing their full strength PL team.

Weren't Swansea facing a full strength side, scoring three goals?

Yes, they did. But it'll take a whole lot of luck and good play to get something at Anfield.

Case in point, the way Wolves are moving the ball about today, even though it's against a weaker side. We don't and won't do that.

I agree we don't play like that.

Carragher did a good piece, in the week, saying this side haven't got the legs to play the high pressing game that Klop likes.
When they are good they are good but they don't half throw in some shockers.

Very. :D
They keep on about all these 'possession state's but, it's what you do with it.
They've apparently not had a shot on target yet.

Just like city and United they have Zero defending ability.

Every time wolves get in their half they are a walking disaster.

All well and good having ball playing defenders but if they can't do their primary job, defend, what's the point.

Looks like the rest of the managers have figured out how to beat Liverpool, 4 months after SD did.

8,000 travelling wolves fans too, just a shame the hosts showed their apathy towards to competition yet again.

I admire the huge following in this weather, but it must seem like a hollow victory knowing your opponents couldn't be ars*d.

Helder Costa is fantastic said previously we should be looking at him, on loan from Benfica. Wolves want him permanently for around £13M
